Opportunity Details
Help keep food scraps out of landfills! Join the NYC Compost Project Hosted by Big Reuse to volunteer at a large-scale urban composting site. Volunteers will help break up leaf bags, rake and tidy the site, bag compost, collect trash, clean bins, and other odd jobs.Volunteers should wear close toed shoes. Clothes they don't mind getting dirty, and dress for the weather. Some physical activities required (lifting up to 40 lbs bags of compost bags, bending)

Coal River Mountain Watch began as a group of volunteers, and we have always relied on volunteers and interns to help our small staff do our important work. Volunteers may plant, tend, and harvest our hemp farm, pick up trash and junk from our streams and hollows with out Tadpole Project, monitor mine sites for regulatory violations, help with community events and workshops, help with disaster assistance, share social media content, or other activities. On-site volunteers will live in our volunteer/intern apartments in the solar-powered Judy Bonds Center for Appalachian Preservation.

Beach Cleanup: Come help clean up the beach in Surf City, Huntington Beach - California! The Beach Cleanup runs from 8am-12noon. You will be walking distance to Main St. and the famous Huntington Beach Pier.What to bring?:
D2O will provide bags/gloves/water if needed (limited supplies). Feel free to bring your own work gloves, reusable bags and/or buckets, water and sunblock.

The National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame is seeking fun loving volunteers to help with our annual Barnyard Babies event on April 25th! The event will feature a number of family friendly activities including petting zoos, "touch-a-truck", pedal tractor races, a farmers market, "Meet the Farmer", train rides and many more. Volunteers are needed to help collect admissions, direct parking cars, direct visitors around the grounds, help visitors on and off the hay wagons, and supervise activities throughout the day.
