We are a nonprofit organization driven by the purpose of combating ocean pollution, with the main strategy of containing floating solid waste and recovering degraded mangrove areas.Rivers and estuaries with dense populations along their banks, especially on the peripheries, carry an enormous amount of plastic into the oceans. Ten rivers carry almost all of the plastic into the oceans. Researchers at the Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research in Leipzig, Germany, analyzed the concentration of plastic in 57 rivers around the world. Eight of them are in Asia, while two are in Africa. The biggest polluter is the Yangtze, located in China, which releases 1.5 million tons of plastic waste per year into the ocean (more than is released by the other nine rivers combined). Together, the 10 rivers are responsible for dumping up to 2.75 million tons of plastic into the world's oceans each year.
Our voluntary actions are a research tool, environmental awareness and alert to the serious situation of marine pollution by plastic and mangrove deforestation in the Santos - São Vicente estuarine system. More than 80% of the plastic collected on the beaches in the region comes from disposal in mangrove areas occupied by stilt slums.
Since 2008 we have organized 160+ voluntary cleanup actions involving 4,000+ volunteers that removed 60+ tons of marine litter.
We believe that the recovery of rivers and estuaries is the main measure to drastically reduce the amount of plastic in the oceans. This is what we do, with your support, in the Santos - São Vicente estuarine system.

If there is one simple fact that may just change your thoughts on renewable power, it's this one.In a single hour, the amount of power from the sun that strikes the Earth is more than the entire world consumes in a year.
“Solar Punk” is the festival theme, which envisions a future where community and technology are integrated to create a self-sustaining system. In this event, attendees will learn about alternative self-sustaining ways to work and power their daily lives. It is an iconic one-day event that celebrates the best of Burien and empowers the community by bringing eco-friendly businesses together to showcase what they do and connect them to the community as potential employers. Business, Arts, and Culture are the three most powerful drivers of community participation and engagement in Burien and the pillars upon which the festival is based. The proceeds from The Burien Solar Punk Festival will be utilized to support: Key Tech Labs Green Jobs Expo, a Mini Job’s Fair, a Small Business Expo, funds for the new micro solar system, and stipends for the youth Green Pre-Apprenticeship Program
At this year’s Burien Solar Punk Festival you will see green technologies, Like an air-to-water generator, that creates clean drinking water out of the air. You will also see a microgrid solar system that generates energy from sunlight. We even have a farmbot which is an open-source CNC machine that will weed, water, and seed a garden bed all by itself. The future is now and the future is green.

We are a nonprofit organization devoted to preserving our environment. Our primary aim is to foster a bond between humanity and nature, enabling individuals to develop compassion and a sense of responsibility towards Mother Nature. The puma serves as our symbol. We strive to raise awareness about the puma's situation in Córdoba and across the country. Through education and research, we have established various programs to improve the current state of the flora and fauna that enrich the puma's habitat. As a keystone species, the puma not only acts as an umbrella species but also directly influences the biodiversity and abundance of other species.
We provide refuge for animals that have been trapped or involved in the exotic pet trade. Some of these animals are injured and permanently reside at our reserve, while others can be released into their natural environment.
Additionally, we care for other rescued animals, including the indigenous Eagle (Geranoaetus melanoleucus), ferrets (Galictis cuja), monkeys (Alouatta Carayá), llamas, Mayocastor coypus, peacocks, rabbits, hens, owls, ducks, parrots, and more.
Situated in a stunning area approximately 90 km southwest of Cordoba, our reserve offers a picturesque view of the Andes. Our dream is to restore this mountain range to a more natural state. Our goal is to reintroduce native species of flora and fauna, remaining true to our motto: "one that looks after with the stealth of a puma."
We welcome tourists, as it allows us to engage directly with people and hopefully foster a connection between them and their environment. "We care for what we love, we love what we know, and we know what we are taught." We also offer year-round courses and workshops on various topics such as large felines, birds of prey, snakes and arachnids, and Córdoba's mountain range forests.
