While looking to expand our board of directors, this nonprofit seeks pro bono to diversify the range of skills and expertise that members could bring into our organization. We need help to develop a board recruitment plan that would result in dynamic professionals joining our board.BPDC is out to bring positive change to our community by providing education and access to health care for vulnerable or underprivileged children, entrepreneurial training for youths, and poor families start small businesses to earn living. When a jobless youth secures employment or a girl child is educated; those are the moments that make the long hours all worth it.
BPDC’s vision is that through our programs and services, there will no longer be any poor youth in Ghana. Our child education program is a key part of making sure that the goal comes to fruition.

If you are on holiday in Bali and would like to spend some time (several hours) supporting students within the local community please consider the Youth Sociopreneur Initiative. Prestasi Junior introduces students matriculating at high school level to the world of business by asking them to start-up and operate their own business enterprise. They are supported by our staff and each student within the school based company learns about finance, marketing, human resource management, public relations production and governance through active participation. Most of these students begin this experiential activity with very little knowledge and no practical record of operating their own business. No similar undertaking is conducted within the national curriculum and 15-17 year old Balinese youth stand to benefit greatly from an experience which prepares them for life after graduation. Bali projects the image of a full economy with minimal unemployment issues. But this is not the case. The province has one of the lowest average wages in Indonesia as many individuals are involved in the tourism sector which is both seasonal and fluctuates based on such influences as volcanic activity. It is therefore necessary to provide the knowledge and self confidence for school leavers to consider alternative possibilities (entrepreneurship) for securing economic well-being rather than, for example, hotel employment.
Students often benefit from the expertise of business personnel volunteering in schools as these volunteers provide their thoughts and experiences on the operations of the company. It will, of course, be necessary for volunteers to engage students at a level which affords understanding. A Prestasi Junior staff member will accompany volunteers into schools and assist with translation and understanding although Balinese generally have an adequate(passive) understanding of English. The volunteers should be comfortable working with youth and have the relevant business experience and/or knowledge to assist students in their learning. It is strongly suggested that volunteers dress appropriately (modestly) for school based visits as each individual will be entering classrooms. Volunteers will not be able to enter schools without the assistance of the Prestasi Junior staff member.
Working with these students is never a daunting experience as Balinese are very willing to learn and are, by nature, exceptionally creative. We are sure potential engagement would be an inspiring experience for both volunteers and students.

The fact remains that at least 1 in 10 children worldwide has already lost, or is at risk of losing, the loving care of their parents. But we can turn this situation around!
The key is quality care, and investment into it has a multiplying effect as children receive enriching care, flourish and realize their potential from generation to generation. It all starts with ensuring that children have the quality care of a parent or another caregiver from a very young age until they are ready to start a career. Care for children makes the world a better place.
That is the care effect.
Be an Uncle/Auntie for a Day along with your colleagues, friends or family members. Come and invest time with a family!
●No need to buy material gifts for the kids, just be ready to inspire them with your life stories.
●No need to hire party hosts or magicians, just prepare fun and recreational games.
●No need to order or pack meals, just bring ingredients to cook and dine with the entire family.

Economics for Success (EFS) (previously a 1-day in-class program for grade 8 students) HAS GONE VIRTUAL!. Students learn basic financial literacy (create personal and professional goals, prepare a personal budget, interview scenarios and learn about career choices). A 1 hour virtual orientation and online self-directed training is provided. Volunteers deliver this workshop virtually to students in a grade 8 class. It can be done solo or with a partner. The volunteer will join a classroom virtually, with a teacher present, to discuss the following lessons (approximately 1 hour):
1. Chose Your Own Adventure (goal setting, personal strengths/interests/skills and choices in setting educational and training).
2.Finding Balance (the cost of living, budgeting for living on your own)
3.Strategies for Success (may include tips on how to get and keep a job, how to present yourself in an interview, what is ‘networking’, why it is good to have a mentor, personal brand). The program can be further explored here: https://www.jacampus.org/
You will share your personal stories, experiences and career path with students and/or provide real-life examples to help them relate to the concepts. Optional: If you and the classroom teacher agree, you can schedule a follow up session (30-60 minutes) with students to complete the remaining program activities (some teachers opt to complete the activities themselves with students).

Imagine you're a 27-year-old single parent earning $25,000 a year as an office assistant, or perhaps you're a 35-year-old regional manager making $65,000 annually. How will you manage your money? At JA Finance Park, students act like adults for a day and make personal financial decisions in a realistic "city" simulation. Regardless of the role, students are assigned to play, they develop enduring financial skills by participating in classroom-based and simulated experiences. Before you present JA Finance Park, Junior Achievement staff will provide comprehensive training and share the goals of the simulation experience. You will become familiar with the daily schedule, the work expected of the students, and your role and responsibilities as a volunteer. You also will be instructed on how to use the Volunteer Guide and Volunteer Checklist to help facilitate the program. Volunteers are key to the success of JA Finance Park. From the beginning of the volunteer training until the end of the simulation, JA staff will be available to answer all your questions.
The time commitment at JA Finance Park is minimal compared to the significant impact you will make on the lives of young people. The volunteer day, composed of full training and the simulation experience, will pass quickly and leave you astonished by how much the students accomplish in such a short period of time.
Here is a short video to give a glimpse of what to expect for the volunteer experience.
