Florence Fuller Child Development Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of children from economically challenged families with the goal of preparing children for a lifetime commitment to learning and empowering their families to build a brighter future, through education, employment assistance, and a powerful support system of teachers and staff that truly care. We believe every child should have the chance to learn, grow, and experience success in school and life regardless of their ability to pay.
Reading is the foundation for learning and yet, too many children enter school without the basic skills they need to learn to read. Research has shown that children learn best when they are engaged and having fun. BMO employees will read age appropriate books to the pre-school classrooms. This will take place through a live setting, books will not be pre-recorded. Desired timeframe is between 9:45-11:45 for 30-45 minutes.

We want to connect! We would like folks to step up and support where they went to school! Let's show students about our careers and lives and maybe give back a little Time, Talent and Treasure.
So what we need from you, is marketing help with this venture. We have a website at www.hsdalumni.org. We don't have marketing materials, a plan, an app, or dedicated social media. You don't have to be an alum of HSD to push us into this program. We are looking for ideas, tech support, social media... an app? The sky is the limit. We have started it. Ok. Ok. What's next?

Anyone can participate in Readers Are Leaders! Tutors have varied experience, ranging from college students, to stay at home caregivers, to retirees. No previous experience is needed. All the training and resources you need to be successful will be provided. No matter what your background is, our students can learn so much from you!

Tutoring takes place during school hours, September/October through May. Recruitment for the 2023-2024 school year will begin in August 2023.
