**This opportunity is for employees based in NYC only** To curb the risk of students losing 30% of their academic growth from last year, volunteers will read a story to students of PS 330 Q and ask comprehension questions to practice student reading comprehension, build vocabulary, and model fluency. The 90-minute session includes a 30 minute orientation for volunteers followed by a series of icebreakers and small group reading and discussion.

Travelnitch is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that needs help developing family-centric travel content to engage kids (and sometimes parents) in fun and innovative ways. If you are a writer who loves to travel, this could be the perfect fit for you—turn your own passion into an inspiring story for our readers!

We are currently seeking volunteers who love to travel and write about it. You should be able to craft meaningful content in the following categories:

— Travelnitch Eats: Whether it’s a new take on an old world recipe or a deep dive into a city’s best eateries, this is for foodies (young and old) who travel to eat.

— Family Travel: We love sharing hands-on activities that get kids (and sometimes whole families) excited about travel.

— Virtual Adventures: Take a deep-dive into the destination of your choice. Highlight fun & quirky sights and exotic excursions to help kids build the ultimate travel wishlist. Think of it as a travel guide, written for young explorers.

— Strange and Spooky: These stories introduce young readers to strange and spooky phenomenon from around the world. From historical legends to natural phenomenon, if it’s weird or bone-chilling we want to write about it.

— Travelnitch Outdoors: A passion for travel can stem from a love of the outdoors. Share your favorite family-friendly campsites, hiking trails, and outdoor activities to help families feel more connected to mother nature.

We will provide a list of topics, but also encourage our writers to make recommendations. All stories are shared on our website and across various social channels. They include an author’s bio with an optional link to your own portfolio or site.

As a nonprofit, we rely on the generosity of volunteers to help further our mission. Together, we engage families through thoughtful content and informative, online programming. We'd love your support—reach out today!

Parents as Teachers will host a literacy event for the community outdoors at Target in Hattiesburg. We will set up outdoors near the front entrance. We will offer story time, a hand sanitizer creation station for kids, a photo booth, as well as take home activity bags that include a free book. We will have community heroes and vehicles on site as well. This event will be Wednesday, April 21st from 1-5pm. If it rains, we will postpone the event to Friday, April 23rd.

**This opportunity is for employees based in NYC only** Promote literacy, limit learning loss, and alleviate the mental health effects of social distancing among students of PS 359 X. Read and record a children’s book to be later shared through an online learning library. A list of appropriate children's books will be provided, including digital books. Stories should have a focus on social justice issues and/or provide a diversity of perspectives including books about characters who are queer, women, have disabilities, and are of color. Join a 30-minute video conference call for directions and have the weekend to record and upload your story video. This project is child and pet friendly!

Volunteering with the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County gives you a chance to be part of strengthening our public schools and making a difference in the lives of our students and teachers in Palm Beach County. Whether you are able to volunteer on a regular basis or just occasionally, there are a number of opportunities available to you. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old or have adult supervision. We are always looking for volunteers at our Red Apple Supplies Warehouse and Teacher Store and also for office projects and help at special events.

Volunteer Job Description
- Sorting, organizing, and taking inventory on donated and/or purchased products (pencils, glue sticks, post-its, pens, etc.)
- Assist with picking and packing teacher’s online shopping orders in preparation for teachers to pick them up at Red Apple Supplies
- Help to re-stock products and break down bulk items
- General housekeeping items throughout the year

The Early Learning Coalition of Flagler and Volusia Counties is looking for volunteers to help put on our biggest fundraiser of the year: the Duck Race! With a new larger location and social distancing guidelines in place, we will need more people to help make this event a success.

SF City Academy:
The San Francisco City Academy exists to transform the Tenderloin Community by breaking the cycle early of poverty, violence and addiction through educating and empowering children to overcome those obstacles. We have several volunteer options to help with:
-There are after-school tutoring options with our City Academy students, Monday - Friday, between 3pm - 5pm. Tutors are paired with students based on the strengths of the tutor and the needs of the student. Tutoring can be done via Zoom and we look for volunteers to have a weekly commitment.
-Volunteers can help with general tasks at our City Academy, such as admin, sanitation, monitoring duties, grading, walking students to the park, etc. These would be available Monday - Friday from 8am - 3pm and would be in person.
-Volunteers can assist a teacher for a day in their classroom. Responsibilities range from grading coursework, assisting students with in-class exercises, and supporting our teachers in the classroom. Volunteers are needed Monday - Friday.
