Donate your voice and brighten a disadvantaged child's world! Join Audiopedia Foundation’s AudioBits for Kids as a virtual volunteer storyteller. By recording short, scripted audio stories in English, French or Spanish, you’ll deliver fun, empowering, and educational content to children aged 3–8 in underserved communities across the Global South.

Audiopedia's mission is to provide vulnerable populations with life-changing knowledge through freely accessible audio content—often the only effective way to reach children and families who can't read or have limited literacy skills. Your voice will not only improve their listening comprehension of English, French or Spanish. The stories also teach them about essential topics like handwashing, counting, kindness, and protecting nature—while also inspiring confidence, curiosity, and connection. Audiopedia distributes your stories via digital channels and community-based Access Points, reaching children in remote and rural areas.

Each AudioBit is just 2–5 minutes long, simple to record on your phone, and requires about an hour of your time in total. Your story will be shared through Audiopedia Playlists and via Audiopedia’s Access Points —bringing joyful learning to places where books and teachers are often out of reach.

Ideal for CSR teams, corporate volunteers, educators, parents, or anyone who believes in the power of stories and voices to create lasting change.

Our goal is to get books in the hands of children living in poverty to encourage a love of reading and improve literacy. Every student at this elementary school gets to pick out a free book to take home and read! We need help running the free book fair.

Volunteers assist with setting up tables, managing book stations, helping students select books, and ensuring everything runs smoothly. Volunteers will be assigned a table of books and will restock and change out books as needed. We recently stocked up on children's books from Kohl's during your clearance event and will be giving many of them away at this school!

This is a wonderful opportunity to support literacy in our community by giving students access to brand-new books to take home and add to their home library.

Please wear a comfortable top and pants, and closed toed shoes.

Please bring bottled water, ID (Drivers licenses) to show the front desk and get your volunteer badge when you walk in.

Feel free to park anywhere in the main parking lot.

The bulk of the work is the set-up and tear down. We will have picture books, readers in both fiction and nonfiction, chapter books in fiction and nonfiction, and graphic novels. We will also have a Spanish table. Students come in 15/20 minute increments to pick out their free book with their class.

We are looking for one volunteer that speaks Spanish.

Research shows that children who grow up with books have better literacy, numeracy, and technological outcomes than their peers who don’t. Studies also show that reading aloud to children actually helps their brain and emotional development. However, many children in our communities have few or no books of their own, and attend schools and programs where high quality books are in short supply. Encouraging reading is not enough when families do not have equal access to books.

We collect donations of new and like-new books for children of all ages, from infants to teens.
