We are asking for help with distributing 80,000 school supply kits throughout the month of August in San Antonio, Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas-Fort Worth.

Our Box of Dreams program was established 25 years ago in San Antonio and we have since expanded our services across the state.

Each school supply kit contains the following items: colored pencils, crayons, notebook paper, spiral notebook, big eraser, glue stick, folders with pockets, folders with pockets and brads, a ruler, pencils, ballpoint pens in black and red, and a box of tissues.

Distribution usually lasts between 30-45 mins per school and we ask that you show up at least 10 minutes prior to get checked in with the front office. Overall, your time commitment per school is around 55-60 minutes.

We are looking for 4-6 volunteers per school and there are costume opportunities for those volunteers that enjoy being silly.

AN EARLY EDUCATION AND LITERACY PROGRAM TO PREPARE KIDS FOR SUCCESS
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails free, high-quality books monthly to children from birth to age five, no matter their family’s income.
We will be signing up children all over San Diego and bringing awareness to this wonderful early education program.

Opportunity Details

The Grant Writer works with program staff and leadership to develop ideas and seek grants and contracts that are aligned with strategic objectives. This person will work with program staff to develop and maintain systems and procedures for management of contracts and grants. Experienced grant writer is highly desirable.
Prepare, submit, and manage grant applications
Research, coordination, planning, and execution of grant writing
Maintain grant calendar, create database, including tracking renewal and reporting timelines.
Cultivate and deepen relationships with foundation and corporate funders

Collaborate with graphic designer, executive team, finance, marketing, fund development, communication, technology, and business admin.
