Latino Conservation Week (LCW) is an initiative created by Hispanic Access Foundation in 2014 to promote communities getting outdoors and participating in activities to protect our natural resources. During this week, community, nonprofit, faith-based, corporate, and government organizations and agencies hold more than 350 events throughout the United States.

LCW events are inclusive of all communities, but in particular are events that break down barriers our community faces when it comes to outdoor recreation and/or conservation efforts. For this reason, we encourage our partners to host events that are free or low-cost to the public, have appropriate transportation considerations, are bilingual, and offer resources for communities to engage in opportunities outside of LCW. As to what the event looks like, LCW events are beautiful in that they don’t fit inside of a box. Past events have included ocean clean-ups, guided hikes, community roundtable discussions, camping trips, stargazing, outdoor salsa lessons, film screenings, and more.

Hispanic Access is here to support your by offering planning guidance, helping you build community connections, and amplifying your event to our partners, networks, and the media.

Reach out to our team for more information, or submit your event here: https://latinoconservationweek.com/events/submit-your-2025-event

Our fair has been running in Caledon Village since 1860 during the reign of Queen Victoria.

Fairs were started across the country when it was beginning to be settled by pioneers, as a way to encourage improvements, education and productivity of all aspects of agriculture.

For example a prize winning animal at the local fair could command a higher service fee, and be more sought after for service. This helped to improve bloodlines, and productivity.

This had the same effect for other livestock, crops, equipment, new ideas and even canning and preserving as well as other lifestyle enhancing activities, right on down to square dancing! Fairs were a BIG DEAL for many towns and villages throughout Canada for many years.

At Village Capital, we believe that the work of entrepreneurs solving urgent problems is vital to face the current world situation. For this reason, we fuel the growth of sustainable and impactful businesses by unlocking capital for early-stage entrepreneurs who are building emergent solutions for social, economic, and environmental challenges worldwide.

Greentech LatAm 2025: The Future of Sustainability will support early-stage companies who are creating locally viable solutions focused on cleantech and climate tech, agtech and food security, circular and regenerative economy, natural resource management, water sanitation, and health in Latin America. The companies will participate in 3 weeks of virtual workshops where they will have the opportunity to analyze their business from different perspectives and be better prepared to keep growing.

This session will happen during the second virtual workshop, where startups will meet in a simulated Advisory Meeting with mentors (including Moody’s volunteers) to learn more about the stakeholders in their industry and to gain new perspectives on their strategic milestone plan, specifically around client acquisition, differentiation, and product-market fit. We are looking for volunteers within the organization that can offer insight into customer targeting, acquisition, differentiation, and product-market fit.

The session will follow this format:
-Introductions and Break into Small Groups: Each group will consist of 2+ mentors and two companies.
-Small Group Work: Each company will do a product demo and will outline a strategic challenge they are facing in customer acquisition to then get feedback from mentors.
-Full Group Debrief.

Before the Session:
-Volunteers will receive a calendar invitation and a Mentor Packet including information about the session and the companies one week before the session.
-The session will be held in Spanish.

Volunteers are welcome to participate in one or more program events.
