The Kokoda Challenge is Australia's toughest team endurance event that raises funds for Aussie teens in our experiential youth programs that engages and inspires kids to reach their full potential.The Kokoda Youth Foundation is a registered charity that contributes to the local community by aiming to educate Australians about the history of the Kokoda Campaign while also offering a life-changing experience for all Kokoda Challenge competitors in our amazing team events! The Kokoda Challenge attracts hundreds of volunteers every year. We have families, friends, and even colleagues who are looking to do some corporate team building, help us successfully deliver Australia’s toughest team endurance event.
Our 2022 events are located in Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, so our volunteers are generally from Southeast Queensland, Northern NSW, Victoria and surrounds. These events run for anywhere between 20 to 39 hours. We have a variety of shift times available in 4 hour blocks for morning, afternoon, evening, and night - just let us know any preferences! Food and drink will be available so please let us know any dietary requirements.

Penfield Children's Center has hopes of growing our gardens and helping our children learn about how things grow. The project will involve staining our wood on garden boxes, general outdoor “yard work” weed pulling, branch trimming, all in order to get our gardens ready to plant. The Centre for Youth and Development is a Malawian development organization working with children, youth and their ecosystems which includes parents, teachers, and the local leadership to expand their opportunities to access meaningful and impactful education, health and livelihoods in Malawi. We work to equip children and young people to drive systematic change, and create a positive multiplier effect throughout their rural communities.
The organization is seeking the services of a Partnership Development Intern who will work closely with the Centre for Youth and Development team to support business development activities including research, business intelligence and proposal development as required. The potential candidate should be enthusiastic and tenacious individual with lots of energy, creative ideas, combined with meticulous attention to detail.
The Centre for Youth and Development is committed to nurturing future talent and will help the successful individual to build their skills, provide one to one support and feedback to help the individual grow. We will also provide a reference upon completion of the assignment, and share advice of how to build your career.

We are looking for someone to support business development activities. In particular, the intern will;
• Support the preparation of external communication materials customized for target key audiences such as donors for effective outreach among existing and potential partners;
• Develop content, presentations, briefings, speaking points and other external communication material as required;
• Writing engaging content, including blogs, articles, stories and press releases;
• Assist in the development of articles and stories for Centre for Youth and Development communication channels;
• Support in collating and organizing project information, images and other relevant documents required in Partnership Development;
• Research, collation and analysis of partnership possibilities;
• Support in Project Proposal writing and development;
• Support any other function as delegated.
Whilst we feel it is important to set out the broad deliverables for this assignment, we will work with the right individual to shape the deliverables according to their expertise and areas they want to develop in.
Required Competencies
The incumbent should have the following competencies: Creativity and Innovation, Strong writing skills, respect for diversity, good communication skills, good team work skills, ICT awareness, Social Media Management skills, ability to meet set deadlines, planning and organizing, ability to work with limited supervision, attention to detail and consistent and construction approach to work.
Education/Experience/Language requirements
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in International Development, Social Development, Business Development or equivalent.
• Fluency in oral and written English is required.
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required
Final few details
This assignment will be home based and can be based anywhere as long as you have access to the internet, a computer and a phone. You will need to speak English and feel at ease communicating in English. This is an intern position, and not paid.
