This event will run from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM around Collier County beaches and other waterways.The International Coastal Cleanup event was founded by the Ocean Conservancy, with local efforts being spearheaded by Keep Collier Beautiful and its partner organizations. The community-wide cleanup brings together volunteers, local businesses, and municipalities to support Collier County’s unique environment. Through ongoing partnerships, Keep Collier Beautiful helps support litter prevention, education, and community cleanup programs.
Keep Collier Beautiful beach cleanup events are perfect for the young and young-at-heart. Volunteers are encouraged to bring friends, family, and coworkers for a fun and meaningful project. Volunteer service hours are available for pre-registered students.

Purpose:To strengthen the resilience and livelihoods of smallholder farmers in KwakyeKrom through agroforestry, promoting sustainable land use, improving soil fertility, and enhancing climate adaptation.
Why This is Important:
Restores Degraded Land – Agroforestry helps rehabilitate soil, improve water retention, and prevent erosion.
Enhances Food Security & Livelihoods – Integrating trees with crops increases productivity and provides alternative income sources.
Boosts Climate Resilience – Trees act as natural carbon sinks, regulate microclimates, and reduce the impact of climate change on farming.
Empowers Farmers – Training and capacity building equip smallholder farmers, especially women, with sustainable agricultural skills.
Encourages Community Ownership – Local participation ensures long-term adoption and sustainability of agroforestry practices.

Opportunity Details
The project seeks to educate and create awareness on climate change issues, and environmental protection through tree planting. The project will restore the ecosystem, and increase climate literacy and community participation.We will participate in selecting species, setting up nurseries, and engaging stakeholders. Tree planting, training students, and providing necessary tools. Develop learning materials, and conduct climate literacy sessions. Track tree growth with extension officers. Document progress, measure impact, and ensure long-term care.
Duration is Twice a year ( June and September), Volunteers are requested to bring PPEs and we will provide Transportation, snacks and launch.

Hoyt Arboretum is Portland’s living museum of trees. Located in Washington Park, the Arboretum spans 189 ridge-top acres and features over 12 miles of trails. It’s home to more than 6,000 trees and shrubs, representing over 2,000 species from around the globe.Volunteer support is essential to the ongoing care of Hoyt Arboretum’s diverse tree collection and trail system. These hands-on stewardship events are a great way for corporate teams to work together, give back, and learn about rare and remarkable plant species from around the world.
Group volunteer events are typically scheduled on weekday mornings, and can accommodate groups ranging from 5 to 50+ participants. Volunteers can expect to help with a variety of seasonal tasks, including: invasive species removal, weeding and mulching, brush clearing, trail maintenance, and more!
