The mission of the Godwit Days non-profit is to bring enjoyable, educational events to our community that allow children and adults alike to explore nature and learn about birds and our natural environment. We have an incredible number of different bird species in our area which means it is important to protect local habitats. The events Godwit Days provides help to teach participants about species while having fun exploring local areas. During the festival, our venue provides a community location where people can come and learn about local programs and government agencies that help to maintain and protect the health of wildlife and our natural resources, see live birds of prey on display, and enjoy student artwork. We provide numerous events for youth that introduce them to the world of birding and nature. This is a large community event, 7 days long with our onsite location for 3 days, this will be our 24th year!We need volunteers to help in the set up of our vendor hall and registration room. This will include organizing registration materials - carrying materials in, sorting, alphabetizing. It will also involve setting up our merchandise display - unpacking, folding, organizing. It may also include help in setting up the cafe. Other tasks as needed.

Our film festival supports independent filmmakers. We receive thousands of submissions every year. It's our goal to get every film watched at least three times by different audiences.Filmmakers submit their films through various websites, primarily WithoutaBox and FilmFreeway. For the most part you will be able to watch and review the films online through our system, but in some cases you may be redirected to view a film on the submission website. In those cases, you will see login information where the screener would be. Use this login info to view the film on the submission site.
It is always our goal to protect the films and filmmakers from any possibility of being leaked before the festival, so we require you to sign the Non-Disclosure Agreement that we will send you.
The Ballot:
After viewing each film, you will be asked to answer a few questions, including whether you think the film should be programmed. Please answer these questions based both on your personal experience of the film and whether you think it is engaging and a story that needs to be seen (sometimes we ask reviewers, “would you want to stand up and introduce the film in front of an audience of moviegoers?”) Please try to keep your answers relatively succinct, and remember your answers, except the last one, will only be viewable by PDXFF programming staff.
Visible-to-Filmmaker Comment:
Through this ballot, you have an option to give a comment that will be visible to the filmmaker. Although it is entirely optional, we provide this because we want submissions to PDXFF to benefit all filmmakers that send in their films, not just those that we are ultimately able to accept. This is an important opportunity for the filmmaker to receive invaluable feedback, and as reviewers and members of the artistic community, it is crucial to treat this with the utmost respect. In many cases these films are the product of many years of work: if you choose to include a comment to the filmmaker, please make sure it is constructive and said in the way you would want to hear it.

To reduce the risk of Covid, we recommend that everyone who visits here wears a mask in high traffic areas, when you are indoors and if you are not vaccinated, but as we are following state guidelines we do not require masks to be worn. We truly appreciate you being part of the effort to reduce the risks faced by our staff, visitors, volunteers and local community. As long as the Covid situation remains steady, we can continue with this current system, but some flexibility might be needed. I appreciate your willingness to work with the uncertain nature of planning because we truly need the volunteers help here. We thrive with all of your help and aloha.
