Before we set out on our clean-up, enjoy a guided interpretive walk through the park and teach you a thing or two about different kinds of plants. We will focus on invasive vs. non-invasive, as well as native and non-native plants.Thursday mornings are dedicated to park maintenance at Oxbow Park in Reno, NV. This may involve anything from picking up trash, covering up unwanted writing, and as you may have guessed based on the name, a huge chunk of clean up is pulling out unwanted, invasive, and non-native weeds. This will help native plant life take back their natural habitat.
Summer is a time when so many people will discover and utilize the Oxbow Nature Study Area, and it is important to provide the most natural and enjoyable environment for all plants, animals, and people. So join us Thursday morning, 07/05!
All ages welcome!

The New Jerusalem School District will celebrate its annual fall festival and auction on Saturday, September 22nd, 2018. The festivities include live entertainment provided by our school children and local artist Michael Beck, silent auction, dinner, dancing, Chili cook off, vendor booths, petting zoo, car show and carnival games.Currently 57% of children who attend school in The New Jerusalem School District are living below the state poverty level. Support in recent years has allowed the parent teacher clubs to maintain extracurricular activities that go directly to the students. We have funded playground equipment, science camp, yearbooks, field trips, dances, plays, music and art programs, and stage curtains. Our hope is to fund future large school needs in addition to continuing our current level of support. In order to accomplish that, we need you. We would not be able to provide this important investment towards our children’s education without your generous donations. We encourage you to support both the New Jerusalem and Delta Charter Schools. These schools strive for excellence and maintain staff who share the same concern and devotion to the children. We hope, in support of these great schools, you are able to contribute.

LeMoyne was founded in 1963 by four community leaders: Mary Metzke, Clifton Lewis, June Strauss, and Nanette Fisher. Their goal was the establishment of a fine art gallery and venue for art education activities for the citizens of North Florida. Rich in history, LeMoyne is housed in a restored 1854 Antebellum home that serves as a beautiful visual arts gallery for changing local, regional and national exhibitions. The Meginniss-Munroe House's first floor offers five gallery rooms for changing exhibitions and administrative offices on the first and second floors. The first floor galleries are easily accessible via wheelchair ramp. The Gallery Shop is located at the back of the house on the first floor. A ceramics lab is located below the main floor. We are seeking volunteers to help maintain the inside of our beautiful historic gallery. Volunteers would patch minor holes in walls, paint walls and trim, wipe railings and clean floorboards.
