We couldn't maintain these gardens without volunteer help. We'll spend the day planting, building garden infrastructure, weeding, or doing whatever garden projects arise!

TogetherSF, RefuseRefuseSF, SF Public Works, and United Democratic Club (UDC) with Ocean Beach Cafe are now hosting a recurring Ocean Beach trash pick up event!

Volunteers will meet at Ocean Beach Cafe (734 La Playa Ave). Each cleanup will end with a different surprise event at Ocean Beach Cafe! Stick around afterward to meet other volunteers and let us celebrate you!

This trash clean up part of a larger movement in San Francisco started by RefuseRefuseSF which focuses on educating people on litter abatement, organizing clean-up events in every neighborhood, and influencing public policy related to waste management.

Founded in 2002 by I Love A Clean San Diego, the Creek to Bay Cleanup shares the honor with Coastal Cleanup Day as one of the largest single-day environmental action events in San Diego County.

Opportunity Details

The City of Bentonville is participating in Keep Arkansas Beautiful's Great American Cleanup by organizing a city-wide "Clean the Streets Day" on Saturday, April 15th from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Volunteers are needed to help pick up litter along Bentonville city streets, trails, along creek beds, and in drainage ways. All supplies are provided.

At Village Capital, we believe that the work of entrepreneurs solving urgent problems is vital to face the current world situation. For this reason, we fuel the growth of sustainable and impactful businesses by unlocking capital for early-stage entrepreneurs who are building emergent solutions for social, economic, and environmental challenges worldwide.

The Innovation for Ecosystem Restoration: LatAm 2023 program will support 8-10 early-stage companies who are championing ecosystem restoration in Latin America to participate in 3 weeks of virtual workshops where they will have the opportunity to analyze their business from different perspectives and be better prepared to keep growing.

This session will happen during the first virtual workshop, where startups will meet with two mentors (including Moody’s volunteers) to discuss client segmentation, their key assumptions, and their market feedback plans. We are looking for volunteers within the organization who can provide insight into the process of establishing the target customer for a product or service and finding the proper channels of customer acquisition and communication.

The session will follow this format:
-Introductions and Break into Small Groups: Each group will consist of two mentors and two companies.
-Small Group Work: Each company will have 35 minutes to go over their customer discovery plan and get feedback from mentors.
-Full Group Debrief.

Before the Session:
-Volunteers will receive a calendar invitation and a Mentor Packet including information about the session and the companies one week before the session.
-The session will be held in Spanish, but live translation to Portuguese/English will be available if needed.

As a part of the selection process, Moody’s Volunteers will support the Selection Committee members in reviewing the Briefing Book, a document summarizing relevant information on the semi-finalists, to help them prepare for the Final Selection Call, where the cohort will be selected.

This process is to be done asynchronously. Once registered, the Village Capital team will send an email with all the information needed.

As a part of the selection process, the Village Capital team will lead interviews with 20 semi-finalists. Moody’s volunteers will attend one of these interviews, having the opportunity to ask any questions they might have for the company. Once registered to participate, volunteers will receive an email confirmation from the Village Capital team with the date and time for the interview, along with information on the company assigned to them.

The session will follow this format:
- Interviews will be conducted in Spanish; live interpretation will not be available.
-1-hour interview with each semi-finalist.
-During the first 15 minutes, the entrepreneurs will present their companies. The next 30 minutes will be used to answer questions posed by the Village Capital and Moody's participants, and the remaining minutes will be used to answer any questions that the entrepreneurs may have.

We are putting together an Advisory Board formed by Moody's volunteers and other members of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Latin America, to support the program and provide input as we review the semifinalists.

Advisory Board members commit to:
-Be ambassadors for the program, spreading the word about the call for applications with their networks.
-Review applications from 5 to 7 companies and provide feedback (approx. 2hrs).
-Attend a kick-off meeting with the Village Capital team and the rest of the programmatic Advisory Board, where they will receive more information about their participation and the semi-finalist review process (45mins).

- The Village Capital team will send volunteers an email with information about their participation and the calendar invitations for the virtual meeting and the semi-finalist review period.

-The reviewing application period will be asynchronous. Once registered, the Village Capital team will send an email with all the information needed.
