As a mentor you aren't alone. We provide support and run group surf sessions and you'll have a dedicated youth to work with AND also be among a group of other mentors and mentees. It's fun and rewarding and you'll be able to positively impact the lives of Hawaii;s teens.

Check out our website to learn more: surferspirit.org

Bound together by their passion for surfing and their love of our community, they are the heart of Surfrider Spirit Sessions.
As a mentor you'll work one-on one with youth, but you’ll also be in a group setting with other mentors and their mentees. We will be there to support and guide you as you need, and we will provide the guided activities and equipment for everyone at each session.

Neshaminy State Park Reforestation
We have ongoing volunteer opportunities tending this 3 acre area in Neshaminy State Park.

1236 Native Trees and Shrubs were planted in Neshaminy State Park from 2020-2022 by volunteers for Nonprofit Excel Events funded by Treevitalize and in Partnership with Keystone 10 Million Trees.

This is a Reforestation project remediating 3 acres covered by invasive plants back into native habitat. First we remove invasive plants then plant native trees and shrubs that can handle both drought and wet conditions. The funding came initially from a riparian buffer grant to help divert storm water in a priority flood zone. This will provide natural habitat for wildlife and migrating birds while native flowering shrubs feed pollinators and flowering native trees help feed other insects.

(Spring/Fall 2025 Tree Tending) 9am - 12 noon

Saturday 4-5-25 (9 am-12 noon)
Saturday 6-28-25 (9 am-12 noon)
Saturday 7-5-25 (9 am-12 noon)
Saturday 7-19-25 (9 am-12 noon) - (Tree Tending/Weeding) (lots of weeds this time of year)
Saturday 8-2-25 (9 am-12 noon)
Saturday 11-29-25 (9 am-12 noon)

Celebrate our 100th Volunteer Event! Join us as we partner with OdySea Aquarium for our annual President's Day Weekend Lower Salt River Land & Water Cleanup Event at Coon Bluff Recreation Area!

Register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/528853855117

Everyone is welcome, including youth volunteers when they are accompanied & supervised by a parent, guardian, or adult group leader. We would be happy to sign off on service hours or provide a Confirmation of Volunteer Service letter for youth volunteers.

This is the perfect time to use water boots or waders or an old pair of shoes you set aside for a river cleanup. If you don't have water shoes, we can ferry you across the river on a paddleboard or kayak so you can get to the other side to pick up trash. You can stay on dry land and help us move trash bags from the river up to our dedicated dumpster, and walk the trails around the recreation area and down the road.

Kayaks/Paddle Boards/Canoes: Our friends from REI Co-op Adventure Center & Riverbound Sports are bringing kayaks and an XL paddleboard to help volunteers remove trash from the water and help ferry trash across the river to our dumpster. They will also provide PFDs and paddles.

If you would like to reserve a kayak, please email Nicole at contact@naturalrestorations.org or use the contact button at the bottom of this page.

If you have your own paddleboard, kayak or canoe, this is the perfect event to bring it out to help us get trash out of the areas volunteers cannot reach on foot. You can also help us ferry trash across the river.

Visit the registration link above for all of the event details.

Do you have a love for the land, and the plants, animals and the other life it supports? Do you want to help take care of the special places you love? Do you like spending your free time walking through the woods?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, becoming a Site Steward with the Nisqually Land Trust may be a good fit for you. Our volunteer stewards "adopt" one of the Land Trust's properties in the Nisqually River watershed, and periodically monitor it for positive and negative changes.

The Nisqually Land Trust (NLT) is a nonprofit that protects and stewards lands to permanently benefit the water, fish, wildlife, and people of the Nisqually River Watershed

We have over 6,000 acres of protected land, so the Site Steward Program increases our capacity to track changes and more effectively steward this land.

This Site Steward Workshop is an opportunity to learn about our Site Steward program and the work NLT is doing in the watershed. Current or returning site stewards are welcome to join us as well.

Please register through Eventbrite so we have a headcount for the event. Link here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/nisqually-land-trust-annual-site-steward-workshop-tickets-525985465687
