Location: Virtual + can work across time zones

Duration: One hour

We welcome help with creating a marketing toolkit for use by all the participating climate and environmental nonprofits. We've instituted a "nontraditional influencer" program and would welcome recruitment of key people who will amplify the promotion of Earth Gives. We welcome key presenters to talk with nonprofits during our monthly programs - from strategy to fund raising, community building to messaging and storytelling. Board leadership is also an option.

Our plant nursery located at 1217 Macclesfield Road, Yellingbo, is at the heart of our operations. Open on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9am to 3pm, the nursery has a few paid staff but is mainly supported by nursery volunteers. Without volunteers, we would not be able to propagate around 100,000 plants each year to support local revegetation initiatives and also increase habitat for the critically endangered Helmeted Honeyeater. Up to 12 volunteers help out on each of our three open days, however volunteering numbers are lowest on Friday and we would dearly love some additional support. You will learn about looking after indigenous plants, propagation from seed and cutting, in a magnificent natural setting of the Yellingbo Nature Conservation Area.

About CWDR
The Centre for Women’s Development and Research (CWDR), established in 1993 by a group of women activists, is dedicated to advancing women's rights and empowerment in Tamil Nadu. We believe that women-led organizations are best positioned to address the unique challenges faced by women. CWDR actively promotes women’s leadership and empowerment through community-based campaigns and interventions. We focus on empowering three vulnerable groups: adolescent girls, single women, and domestic workers.
• Vision: Building a gender-just society.
• Mission: Facilitating a women’s movement to secure human rights for women.
Current Initiative
In our rural outreach, we promote organic kitchen gardens, with women primarily using the produce for their households. To enhance their income and promote sustainability, we aim to:
• Increase the quantity and quality of produce like vegetables, mangoes, jackfruit, and cashew.
• Introduce backyard poultry and goat rearing.
• Support the creation of value-added products such as virgin coconut oil, handmade soap, jackfruit chips, mango juice, and pickles.
Why This is Important
This initiative empowers rural women to achieve financial independence and contributes to sustainable livelihoods. By enhancing product quality and diversifying income sources, we aim to uplift communities and create a model for economic resilience.
Volunteer Opportunity
We are seeking volunteers with marketing expertise to support the development of an online business strategy. Volunteers will assist with:
• Creating an effective marketing plan for online platforms.
• Building brand awareness for rural women’s products.
• Identifying potential market opportunities and platforms for sales.
Your support will directly contribute to empowering women, fostering entrepreneurship, and building sustainable livelihoods.

Oke Charity empowers tamariki by giving them the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive through outdoor education and hands-on experiences. We build outdoor classrooms in schools across Aotearoa, providing kids with the tools, knowledge, and environment to grow their own food while fostering resilience, teamwork, and sustainability.

By volunteering at an Oke Working Bee, you’re helping to create an inclusive learning space where kids can connect with nature, learn about healthy eating, and develop essential life skills. Since 2016, we’ve built outdoor learning spaces in 50+ schools, benefiting over 25,000 children, with the help of amazing volunteers like you!
