Goal and PurposeThe Singapore Invention Convention, proudly presented by RTX, is the nation's premier platform for young inventors to showcase groundbreaking ideas and problem-solving skills. Our mission extends far beyond a simple competition – we are nurturing the next generation of inventors who will shape Singapore's scientific, technological and engineering future.
The Convention serves as a catalyst for creativity, STEM excellence, and entrepreneurship among students from across the nation, with a special focus on providing opportunities for underprivileged children and youths who may not have access to similar programs in their schools or the financial means to participate in other innovation competitions. By bringing together young inventors, educators, and industry leaders, we create a unique ecosystem where innovative ideas flourish and meaningful mentorship occurs, ensuring that talent and creativity are recognised regardless of socioeconomic background. Our event celebrates not just the inventions themselves, but the critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and entrepreneurial spirit that these young minds demonstrate.
Why Your Participation as a Judge Matters
Bridging the Innovation Gap - Your expertise and encouragement can be the critical factor that empowers these young innovators to pursue their dreams despite financial or educational constraints.
Inspiring the Next Generation - As a volunteer judge, you become a direct influence on young inventors who represent Singapore's future. Your mentorship can spark a lifelong passion for innovation and entrepreneurship. Past participants have shared how judge feedback and questions helped them think deeper about their innovations and discover new possibilities for improvement.
Fostering STEM Excellence - Your participation helps maintain the high standards that make this convention Singapore's premier invention platform. By evaluating and providing constructive feedback on student inventions, you contribute to raising the bar for creative problem-solving and technical innovation among young people.
Creating Meaningful Impact - Your three-hour commitment creates ripple effects that extend far beyond the event itself, particularly for underprivileged participants who may be experiencing their first formal recognition of their innovative potential. The feedback you provide, the questions you ask, and the encouragement you offer can influence a young inventor's entire trajectory – and for many disadvantaged youths, this may be their first interaction with industry professionals who believe in their capabilities. Many of our award winners credit judge interactions as pivotal moments in their innovation journey, with some noting that the Convention was their first real opportunity to showcase their ideas to a professional audience.
Time Commitment: A minimum of 3 hours on November 12, 2025 (Judges deliberate and submit scores after the judging). During the registration, you will indicate your preferred availability.

One of the main initiatives at Oyster River Ecology is the Manatee River Oyster Project, which aims to achieve largescale and transformational restoration of oyster populations. A key component of this project is the construction of Oyster Rag Pots- a simple, low-cost solution for subtidal oyster reef restoration developed by Oyster River Ecology. Volunteers will be making these using a cotton rag, wood spacer, metal circletop pin and cement. These will then be placed in targeted areas of the Manatee River to rebuild oyster reefs, which naturally filter water and enhance local habitat.Available Shifts
