Carnation Farms needs your help! The spring weeds are coming into their own in our vegetable beds, and we're down two agriculture assistants (looking to hire!). Do you have an hour or two to help out while we're looking for new staff?

Weeding helps our organic crops grow strong and healthy. Each week they crops are harvested and provided to locals who have signed up to be part of the Carnation Farms CSA food shares, and for sale at the Issaquah Farmers Market. All revenue goes to support our "Farmers-In-Training" internship program.

And, we must say, weeding is very satisfying because the "before" and "after" are always in stark contrast. Want to experience the satisfaction? Email us and we'll connect you with our farmers to arrange a time for you to join us on the farm for a weeding session.

Coral restoration efforts worldwide are working to stabilize the coral reefs. The coral reefs are essential to the ecosystem and most of the restoration being done depends heavily on volunteerism. The ADFC goal is to increase volunteerism with aquarium divers whose skills transfer well to doing coral. There are over 42 public aquariums in the U.S. with over 3,000 divers.

The Aquarium Divers For Coral Society’s function is to network aquarium divers to volunteer with well-recognized foundations doing coral restoration. To do that, ADFC has arranged for the different foundations to recognize each other’s required coral restoration certifications for its members. Divers must be training to do restoration as a lot of time, effort and investment is involved. The required cost of training and certification with PADI or NAUI is paid by the diver and has been a deterrent to many interested divers. They are willing to donate their vacation time but are reluctant to have to pay to do volunteer work. Donations to ADFC will go towards covering those costs but will not be used to cover member’s travel or accommodations. ADFC does not do the training. For a current example, the cost would average about $250 per diver for training and certification. ADFC is working to involve at least 1.25% of the 3,000 aquarium divers over 2 years. Figuring that half would be active yearly would make a stable base for coral restorations while running membership campaigns.

ADFC can become a reliable resource of scheduled trips to foundations doing restoration and significantly increase the reef stabilization efforts. These trips are designed for restoration and recreational diving. The goal is to have the divers use these trips to replace one or more of their normal vacation dive trips. This way the carbon footprint is minimized. Dive for a cause & dive for adventure.

Wildfire Prevention Financing Data Analyst- CrowdDoing Volunteer
-Prevention derivatives is driven by the thesis that there is an under-valuation of passive risk (or the cost of inaction) and an under-prioritization of positive risk. Correspondingly for wildfires as an example, there is an under-recognition of the potential shared value upside of preventative action through social innovation and social interventions (such as goats & sheep that prevent wildfires). CrowdDoing.world's aim is to guarantee positive risk through leveraging existing liabilities to allow for the implications of prescriptive analytics to be financed. The under-pricing of passive risk means that liabilities are treated as either costs of doing business or un-predictable risks even for entirely preventable risks. Risk management offices have been too biased towards avoiding taking the wrong risks rather than ensuring that institutions make their own luck by seizing the abundant positive risk opportunities in social innovation. Meanwhile, the bias against positive risk leaves social innovations not to get adopted even if there would be remarkable benefits to all stakeholders if they were adopted
