We need classroom volunteers to focus on reading, math, arts & crafts and supporting children's exploration!Tiny Trees Preschool gives children a quality education and a joyful, nature rich childhood. Through the use of outdoor classrooms in Seattle city parks, Tiny Trees eliminates the cost of a brick and mortar facility, making preschool affordable and accessible to all families. An official partner of Seattle Parks and Recreation, Tiny Trees has 9 locations across King County.
Our mission is to bring accessible, high quality, and culturally responsive preschool to parks across Seattle and Puget Sound. To make that happen, we need you!
As a Classroom Volunteer you will:
+ Help with small group time by reading children’s books, math, helping with arts & crafts, or supporting future engineers at our blocks and building station.
+ Help with exploration time by asking children lots of questions of what they found, how it works, and why.
+ Support the health, safety, and welfare of all children. This includes helping children stay warm and dry in poor weather and managing risk in an outdoor setting.
+ Support our teachers in one of 13 upcoming outdoor classes based in a beautiful park to create an inviting and emotionally safe classroom. Classes are at:
Beer Sheva (South Seattle)
Big Finn Hill (Kirkland area)
Camp Long (2 classrooms, West Seattle)
Carkeek Park (3 classrooms, North Seattle)
Cougar Mountain Wildland Reserve (Renton area)
Five Mile Lake (Auburn area)
Jefferson Park (Beacon Hill)
Olympic Sculpture Park (Downtown Seattle)
Seahurst Park (Burien)
You Are:
+ Excited to get dirty and laugh a lot while being outside in all types of weather.
+ Love children, equity in education, and the environment.
+ Tolerant of uncertainty and change.
+ Able to commit to at least one month of volunteering at one site on a regular scheduled day and time.
Shift Opportunities:
Most of our classrooms need volunteers Monday through Friday either in the morning from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. or in the afternoon from 1:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Please email corbin@tinytrees.org for specific site schedules and inquiries.

Do you remember trick or treating when you were a kid!? Having a Halloween party and getting to wear your costume at school!? At Hallsville Elementary School in Manchester we want to give students and teachers a chance to enjoy their Halloween party, get into costume, and participate in a COSTUME PARADE! We can't do it without your help! Hallsville is a Title One school, meaning it has a high population of students who are eligible for free or reduced price breakfast and lunch. It is also a school surrounded by streets that require monitoring for student safety when they leave the school grounds. All classrooms will require assistance with setting up and monitoring classroom celebrations, helping students get into costume, walking with and monitoring students in line as they walk around the streets surrounding the building as a whole school, as well as monitoring traffic/streets/sidewalks to ensure student safety while they are participating in the parade. A garden where parents will want pictures afterwards needs to be cleaned up before hand as well. Assisting in student safety and making sure all students have fun will make this day a success for our children and students!Available Shifts

We're looking for skilled coders and programmers to help us make our arduino based water kits more robust.
Every season we challenge students, educators, and every day citizens to help advance the kit and the understanding of the process. We have a few advanced coding & programming based challenges that we could use help on!
Currently the kits run the electrocoagulation/electrolysis process and we want to add methods for logging data so we can share results on different water samples with the global community.
Any help is appreciated!
