It’s estimated that 21 billion pounds of textile waste is dumped in landfills every year. That makes up more than 5% of all municipal waste generated every year. Since 2006, Soles4Souls has diverted 23.8 million pounds of shoes and clothes from landfills and instead created meaningful economic opportunities and helped provide new shoes for those in need around the globe. Gently-worn shoes collected help individuals start and sustain small businesses to lift themselves and their families out of poverty.
The sale of 1 pair of shoes can provide 5 meals for Marie-Ange and her family in Haiti, the sale of 20 pairs of shoes can provide a year’s worth of shelter for Ginette and her family in Haiti and the sale of 30 pairs of shoes can provide a year’s worth of schooling for Tracy’s daughter in Honduras.

We are a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit - our mission is to raise awareness about ocean conservation. I am the director and I need an assistant who will work with me via SKYPE as if we are in the same office as we get up to speed.Current fires include:
* Tying up year-end funding thank you notes and setting up a year calendar for outreach
* Vetting and hiring new volunteers in a few key positions
* Help to oversee the completing of our Salesforce instance - requiring herding cats between third part reps, SF volunteers and Excel volunteers
* Help to oversee the completion of data clean up in Quckbooks Online
* Launch multiple campaigns - We will be appearing in Sri Lanka to as official attendees at the Conference of International Trade of Endangered Species in May
* We are completing plans for an expedition that will include environmental minister and possibly President of one of our strategic partner countries
Have other campaigns that need to be kept afloat or launched.
Current website SeaSave.org is about to be relaunched.
-------------------
We use Google Docs/Asana, and hopefully, Salesforce if we can get it complete as our central tool tying up the loose ends from our 2018 year-end efforts and launching 2019 campaigns and projects.
Must be willing to work on Pacific Standard Time
I am looking for someone who does not mind working alongside me virtually to double check items going out the door, as they learn the ropes.
Eventually, I hope to divvy up housekeeping tasks and I need someone who will constantly update calendar and our playbook (manual) on the fly. Someone who will keep us focused, be reliable, discrete. I need someone who is focused on accuracy but can also meet daily deadlines, which are often ambitious. As a small nonprofit, we are working on a tight budget.
It sounds like alot, and it is. We are battling being behind. When we break through and can focus on maintaining, things will be much smoother.

Looking for a skilled videographer and/or photographer. As we approach the 50th anniversary of Earth Day in 2020, we're launching a countdown this spring at our annual Earth Day events in NYC. They're the most high-traffic Earth Day events in the country and will be a launch pad for a year of engagement and empowerment as we provide people with simple things they can do to make a positive environmental impact and share their own sustainability solutions and stories. We will hold an art installation and action center on site that will capture the public's attention and imagination as artists will create live works of art on site at our event as they paint large-scale canvases, depicting a variety of environmental themes.
We want to create a series of short videos of the art installation that we and our partners can share over the course of the next year to continue a call to action in the lead-up to the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. The videos may also feature the sustainability stories of attendees at our event, including high-profile guests and speakers.
