Impact and goal of the organization:

- Thimbleberry Collaborative Farm's mission is to advance individual, community, and environmental health in East Multnomah County by providing healthy, locally grown produce; access to land; educational programs; and community-led events.
- We distribute about 10,000 lbs of produce each year to folks experiencing food insecurity.
- We serve over 650 community members through our education programs, including K-12 field trips and community workshops, per year.

Main tasks:
- Join us on Monday, Jan. 20, 9am-1pm to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service!
- We will be preparing our learning garden for the 2025 season, removing invasive species, and sharing a warm meal prepared by staff with farm-fresh produce.
- There will be active tasks like weeding, mulching, and ivy-pulling, as well as seated/ sheltered activities like building and painting weather-proof signs for the learning garden.

Agenda:
- Work together on farm tasks from 9am-12pm, then enjoy lunch together 12pm-1pm.

Volunteers are kindly requested to:
- Wear closed toed shoes and layers to stay warm in the cold weather.
- Bring a refillable water bottle.
- Park in the grass near the porta potty at 29089 SE Kelso Rd., Boring, OR 97009.

We will provide:
- Tools
- Water
- Lunch! We are planning to make a vegan, gluten-free soup with kabocha squash from the farm, and serve it with rice.

Therapy Animal Care Volunteer

TimberKnoll's Spirit Cove is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization based in Dandridge, TN. We’ll be moving our headquarters to Hendersonville, NC by the spring/summer of 2025.
We are committed to helping community heroes and children or adults who are battling illness or overcoming trauma with the help of our Newfoundland therapy dogs and Gypsy Vanner horses. These massively breathtaking animals are trained in obedience and are in different stages of therapy registration. These special teams are dedicated to reducing stress, creating joy and helping heal, through their unconditional love, kindness and compassionate spirits. Visiting veterans’ organizations, schools, hospitals, fire and police stations, the Newfies spread hope for those that need it most.
Are you looking to gain experience in the animal care field? We are looking for compassionate and responsible animal care volunteers to join our team. The qualified individual must have a love of dogs, as our team of Newfoundland’s are massive and unique in personality. We need individuals who would be interested in learning from our founders who have over 20 years’ experience in breeding, showing and working dog events including Water Rescue. We are looking for individuals who have their own transportation and can work at least 4 hours a week. We are highly flexible in scheduling.
Major Duties include:
Assist with training activities in obedience, therapy and water rescue work.
Performing a variety of tasks associated with the proper care, feeding and grooming of the Newfoundland’s.
Clean and disinfect dog living area, outdoor habitat by sweeping, washing, raking, and other cleaning methods; remove waste and other material.
Primary Tasks include:
Working under the direction and supervision of Animal Caregiver Leads, the incumbent’s daily tasks will include:

● Monitor the health and welfare of therapy dogs
● Monitor and document training activities, accomplishments and areas of opportunity
● Learn the histories and behaviors of each animal resident
● Attend staff meetings
● Perform other duties as assigned which will support the growth of the organization
Qualifications/Experience:

Applicants must have the ability to do the work of an Animal Caregiver without more than normal supervision and be capable of following all safety procedures, animal care protocols. Applicants must have at least six (6) months of experience working with animals. At least 1 year of college education in Animal Science or a related field of study.

This event is a partnership between the City of Rochester, Rochester Main Street & Waste Management. We have hundreds of volunteers throughout the city cleanup
trash. Rochester Main Street focuses on the Main Street / Downtown area while the Rec Department focuses on the rest of the City. Those who participate in downtown are invited back to Central Square at the end to enjoy lunch comprised of different food from our downtown restaurants.
