August 20th and 27th.
Please help outreach to families during the Jade District Night Market. We will be partnering with APANO to talk about the safety needs of our streets and the health needs of our kids and families. Come help share Safe Routes to School with other families and help reach 100 new petition signers.

Getting dedicated funding for Safe Routes to School For Every Kid is an uphill battle but not one we can't win with your help. You are the key to making safe routes to school for every kid by helping ask folks to sign the petition this summer.

Join the Bicycle Transportation Alliance as a volunteer for our annual Alice Awards and Auction! This is an exciting event to celebrate those who have had significant impact in making Oregon a better place to live, work, bike, walk and ride transit. This is our largest event of the year, and we couldn't pull it off without an amazing team of about 75 volunteers every year.

We are incredibly appreciative of your support and time. As a thank you, we invite volunteers to attend the event when not working your shift, and all volunteers are provided food and beverage before or after your shift.

Do you have a team of people that want to volunteer together as a group? Email brittani@btaoregon.org and we'll find a great spot for you.

Bear Creek contains the last remaining wild population of Colorado Greenback Cutthroat Trout. This social trail parallels the stream and subjects the stream and the trout to large volumes of sediment. This trail has been closed by the US Forest Service but this closure is consistently violated. This project is to permanently close this trail and re-vegetate the ground to stabilize the sediment.

CSNC is looking for volunteers to work in the Camp Creek area (near North South Road and Mormon Emigrant Trail) to block an unauthorized vehicle route that is directly impacting sensitive resources in the Eldorado National Forest. At this location, there is a hill climb and an intrusion into a riparian corridor. We will be scattering duff and small woody debris to protect bare soil and large woody debris to break runoff, reduce sedimentation, and prevent vehicles from entering the sensitive habitat.

We are meeting at the Georgetown Library at 8:30 a.m. and the Placerville Raley's parking lot by the gas station at 9:00 a.m. Please RSVP to let us know if you are attending so we won't leave without you!  We will return by 5 pm. Please dress accordingly for the weather.  Bring plenty of sun protection, such as a hat and a long sleeve shirt, water, a lunch, sturdy shoes or boots, gloves, and anything you might want for a day in the forest. Since we are lucky enough to be near a creek, don't forget a towel!

For more information or to coordinate travel plans, please email Kayla Youngblood at kayla@sierranevadaconservation.org or call our office at 530-206-7061. Also, Save the Date for Saturday, August 13th for another ecological restoration day!
