This event provides us with the opportunity to engage and share information with 30,000 boat show attendees about our Clean Marine BC program, the benefits of green boating, and tips for protecting our cruising waters and endangered Southern Resident killer whales.

Help the Hunger Task Force Farm get ready for a new season!

Each year, The Farm grows half a million pounds of fresh produce and delivers it to local pantries, meal sites and senior centers creating access for those facing hunger.

The Farm’s Nutrition Education program teaches healthy-eating habits to 250+ low-income students each week on The Farm. Students learn to garden and cook using fresh produce right from the school garden.

In addition, The Farm is home to 100+ acres of natural areas, which includes a 43-acre endangered Oak Savanna, wetlands, and prairie.

In the spring, there is much to do! Help us:

• Natural areas restoration: wood chipping trails, clearing invasive brush and plants
• Cleaning & organizing the Nutrition Education kitchen
• Cleaning, raking and wood chipping the School Garden
• Weeding spinach/shaping garden beds in the Hoop Houses (dependent on spinach harvest timing)

For more than twenty five years, volunteers have improved the Lee County area during Keep America Beautiful’s Great American Cleanup. Keep Lee County Beautiful recruits volunteers, site captains, area managers and local sponsors to foster unity and strengthen community bonds through beautification and improvement efforts across Lee County. This local community improvement program, brings the power of volunteers and sponsors together to inspire change and build sustainable, vibrant communities.

Any individual, family, school, group, place of worship, business or government entity can participate.

Common Sound Festival is a new community gathering by Dutchtown South Community Corporation that celebrates the diverse communities and cultures of the neighborhoods we serve:
Dutchtown, Gravois Park, Marine Villa, and Mount Pleasant.

Containing some of the youngest and most populated areas in all of St. Louis, Dutchtown South Community Corporation requires help to expand, engage, and manage the planning, marketing, and implementation process of setting up the event taking place at the end of the summer.

The 2017 inaugural Common Sound Festival was presented by Urban Chestnut Brewing Company with generous support from our sponsors at St. Louis Community Credit Union, Do314, and Pride St. Louis.

Opportunity Details

We would welcome volunteers to help us with planting and maintaining the raised beds around our premises.
We have adults with learning disabilities who would be happy to fetch and carry, remove rubbish, sweep dead leaves etc and they would also be happy to help with planting.
What we lack is people who know about gardens and can identify what needs working on and when.
Waterside would supply any tools. Lunch at the centre would be available if desired during the week.

Friends of Trees needs your help to plant hundreds of native trees and shrubs and green the Jackson School Natural Area in Hillsboro!

Calling all tree-planters to Clark County! We have many dozens of large (6-12' tall) neighborhood trees, and they won't plant themselves. Make a difference in your community, meet new people, and enjoy some delicious food -- all in a few short hours!
