To sell food and beverages at Enchantment in the Park. Proceeds support Senior Citizens Activities, Inc., a senior center that provides over 200 social, educational and exercise activities per month to healthy, active people over age 50. There are no membership dues so our fundraising is very important. Community volunteers ensure that our organization remains a part of, not apart from, our greater community. Kohl's volunteers have been welcome participants over past years.

Opportunity Details

Linn-Mar High School, specifically the choral department, consists of 7 performance choirs and 3 show choirs. Linn-Mar is an award winning "Grammy Signature School" - a designation awarded annually to the top twenty schools in the U.S. for excellence in music performance and education. Over 400 (21%) of Linn-Mar high school students participate in our seven performance choirs, which helps students feel a sense of belonging, develop a strong work ethic, learn leadership skills, and build self-esteem. This success in this program is due in large part to tremendous community and parental support.

Supernova is our annual show competition, which is the largest source of funding for Linn-Mar's choral program, providing much needed funds each year for additional equipment or costumes that are not affordable within the school budget. In addition, we make approximately six scholarships available each year for students who would not otherwise have the finances to participate in show choir. Supernova will be held on Saturday, January 12, and will include 14 teams from Iowa and Minnesota, plus 5 Linn-Mar teams. Cedar Rapids area teams participating this year are Kennedy, Washington, and Marion High Schools. We expect over 2000 participants and spectators at this year's event.

Hosting an event of this size requires a dedicated team of school administrators and parent volunteers, as well as numerous volunteers from the community. We hope that you will choose to join us in supporting this year's Supernova competition. I have included the volunteer roles for food service; however, we have many other volunteer spots available if preferred.

Opportunity Details

Santa will be visiting with children for 3 consecutive Sundays and the Rhode Theater/Lakeside Players will need help with concessions (possibly including serving alcoholic beverages), set up before, and clean up after the event.

In an effort to raise funds to sustain our youth development programs, we are hosting a FASHION SHOW AND LUNCHEON EXTRAVAGANZA FUNDRAISER EVENT. The event will include a light lunch, fashion show, dance, music, spoken word, opportunity drawing and door prizes.

CAUSE - Research show that Riverside County school dropout rate is 3.2%, just below the state rate of 3.8%.

Anointed Vessel Productions make an impact by providing “Project Heartbeat,” an after school performing arts educational program targeting youth age 11-17 from low income families. The program is offered in a safe environment and provides a platform for creative expression and positive self-identity to raise youth’s confidence levels. The program goals are to build critical thinking in arts, improve academic achievement, pro-social behavior, and decrease school dropout rates.

The program provides a platform for creative expression and positive self-identity for increased confidence and improved academic achievement.

The goal of the event is to raise funds to sustain “Project Heartbeat” and to highlight the importance of education. The event will include a silent auction, vendor booths, live music, spoken word (poetry), comedian, and the stage play production titled “Second Chances.”

The goal of this is for those in need to have necessary toiletries for everyday life. It is very important because of the poverty levels here. We will give packed purses/bags filled with toiletries to families who are also recipients of boxes of food during their time of need.

Opportunity Details

The Santa Breakfast is a fundraiser for the Bucyrus High School and Middle School band. We use this fundraiser to help offset the cost of camp, instrumentation, and other costs associated with band. We have a high poverty rate in the school district and many families struggle to meet these costs.
