The Georgetown Food Bank has been serving the diverse population of the Georgetown and SoDo neighborhoods for over 20 years. A precious resource to the community, we served 42,344 households at our Food Bank last year alone. With the help of our community, we provide nutritious food, free clothing, health checkups, resource assistance, and a special Community Connector Program that links our neighbors with outside resources.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Within the Food Bank, help move boxes of food around and stage for distribution
• Sort and bag fresh produce
• Assist with food distribution and replenish food bins
• Tactfully reinforce Food Bank policies regarding the number of items available depending on family size
• Help guests carry groceries to their cars
• Assist clients in locating and selecting clothing appropriate to their needs

Skills Necessary:
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Comfortable in a busy environment
• Ability to work on your feet for several hours
• Be physically fit and able to lift heavy objects repeatedly
• Courtesy and helpfulness
• Closed toe shoes are required
• Fluency in English, and a foreign language is a plus
• Good customer service skills and the ability to work in a team are required

Opportunity Details

Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Central Ohio will be hosting our 26th annual golf outing at Black Gold Golf Club on June 17, 2022. The funds raised during this event directly impact the mentoring programs and youth served in Tuscarawas and Carroll Counties. We are currently seeking volunteers for the event to help with set up, registration, 50/50 sales, manning pay to play holes, clean up, etc. Registration begins at 8am. There will be a 9am shotgun start for golfers. Clean up should wrap up by 2pm. Meals will be provided for all volunteers.

FREE BREAKFAST FOR ALL VOLUNTEERS!

We serve about 2,000 people from 7 am to noon. We can use your help as a volunteer or come out and support our club and enjoy a big breakfast and all you can eat pancakes!

Fun Events - Lots of Airplanes Displayed, Airplane and Helicopter Rides will be available (for an additional fee), Antique and Classic Car Display, Palmyra Community Band, Various Vendors and Radio Controlled Aircraft Displayed.

This is the only fund raiser the club puts on for the year. The money raised is used for airport improvements, building maintenance, taxes, and scholarships for students pursuing aviation careers.

Walk MS: Fresno is back in person after being virtual for two years on Saturday, April 2nd AT Woodward Park starting at 8 AM! Help at Interchange Food Pantry to nourish our community by providing food to those struggling with food insecurity in Milwaukee. Interchange Food Pantry is looking for volunteers to help with a variety of tasks to help our pantry operations run smoothly, from welcoming and assisting guests on pantry days to sorting and packing groceries for our guests on set up days.
