This is the annual major fundraiser for Tree of Life Charter School. The proceeds help to: fund field trip scholarships to ensure every child can attend every school field trip; fund renovations and repairs to the school campus buildings and yard (as a charter school, we don't receive school bond funds that most schools get for this purpose); and fund special activities and projects for students, such as clubs, after school activities, art projects, and school gardens.Available Shifts

4th Annual Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction. This is our main fundraiser for the entire year. We have many businesses that participate with volunteer help or items for our silent auction. We rely on this fundraiser to continue to serve our Veterans in need with gently used furniture and new beds. Because of our success with this fundraiser, we now have a warehouse that the Veterans can come in and shop for their own household items. We also buy new beds if they need them and we have 2 local churches that make quilts for them to have. We also partner with American Legion Auxiliary to buy new bedding for those that we give new beds to. Sofas for Service has no payroll and runs strictly on donations and volunteer help. We helped 48 Veterans furnish their homes last year and purchased 29 new beds.

DETAILS
Flexible Volunteer Business Mentoring & Advising
You choose who you work with as well as when, where and how you meet. Everything can be done virtually, with the option to meet in-person. You can join Skysthelimit.org at any time by creating your profile on the platform and attending a virtual orientation training. Each volunteer decides how often and how long they will work with a given entrepreneur.
Skill Development
Developing the ability to coach and mentor effectively across diverse teams is a top skill for managers. Improving inclusive communication requires real-world practice with diverse communities.
Meaningful Impact
Our program offers a transformative experience for both the mentor and the mentee. You’ll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships within our community and could help change the trajectory of a young person’s life and maybe even your own!
How it Works:
Mentors and advisors usually work with one young entrepreneur at a time, supporting them in a combination of in-person and virtual forums depending upon what is needed.
Mentoring and advising sessions usually last ~1hr and take place remotely or in-person (if possible) a few times a month.
Mentors/advisors and young entrepreneurs can end their matches at any time.
REQUIREMENTS
Ability to quickly create a trusting relationship founded on the right intentions, recognizing the respect you show to your young entrepreneur and the confidence our young people place in you.
A strong belief in and demonstrated alignment with skysthelimit.org's social mission, and an interest in small business development.
Patience and empathy to "get in the shoes" of our young entrepreneurs, identifying and providing the support that they need when they need it.
Ability to appropriately break down business strategy and effectively communicate with young entrepreneurs, while understanding your role as a mentor, not an owner.
Please contact Danee at program@skysthelimit.org for more information! We would love to hear from you.

The Food For Kidz mission is to bring awareness to hunger problems around the world by involving communities in the participation of packing nutritional meals that will be distributed to children in need. It is important to help expand students' experiences beyond what’s happening locally to give them a more global perspective. In addition, we help educate other organizations and encourage their commitment toward achieving positive results in the fight against hunger.Available Shifts

Living Water Christian School is a fast growing, non profit school providing quality education to our community for students Kindergarten 3, 4, & 5 years through 12th grade. For the past 25 years, our school has held an annual Walk-A-Thon event. This is our only fundraiser for the school. We operate solely on tuition received, our Walk-A-Thon, and donations from community businesses and leaders. Each year students and families work diligently to obtain pledges and donations from family, friends, and businesses. These pledges help LWCS offset operating cost, plan for future projects, and maintain our campus grounds and facilities.
Walk-A-Thon Day is a fun day for everyone. We will spend time outside walking laps around an assigned area. Pizza, chips, cookies, and drinks are provided for lunch. Volunteers are asked to help with set-up, lunch distribution, and cleanup. They are also more than welcome to join us walking.

Our 11th annual volleyball competition involving both competitive and family fun games to raise money for Sandy Cay, Inc./The Bryan Center. The Bryan Center is a small, rural Ohio school for children on the autism spectrum. Many students have been to multiple schools in which their needs could not be met. Our ratios are very small so the students can receive the attention they need. Funds raised will be used to help pay for unfunded therapies (speech, OT, equine), transportation, special projects and field trips. The Bryan Center also serves the community with an 8 week summer camp and mentoring services. We need volunteers to help at this event because there are many aspects to it. It's a fun event and 3 hours of volunteer time would be so helpful!

SCI The Bryan Center (TBC) is hosting its first dance for their junior high and high school students. The Bryan Center is a small rural school for students on the autism spectrum and the students do not have a school dance in which to participate and socialize. Many of the students do not have friends outside of classmates so socializing in a fun and safe environment outside of school is an exciting opportunity. Many of the students have difficulty fitting into social norms so TBC decided to host a fun event without judgement or pressure and the TBC staff are equipped to handle any situation that may arise. The local Fraternity Order of the Eagles has donated the use of their hall for this event. We need volunteers to set up, serve food and drinks, assist with activities and clean up. We would be so thankful for help from our local Kohl's volunteers!Available Shifts
