As a nonprofit, congressionally chartered, private organization, the USO Northwest relies solely on the generosity of individuals, organizations, corporations, foundations and fundraisers to support its activities. The USO Northwest is not a part of the U.S. government and does not receive any government funding, but the USO is recognized by the Department of Defense, Congress and the President of the United States.
Supporting America’s troops was the first mission of the USO. Over time, the USO has refined its focus, developing new programs and services to meet the ever-changing needs of our military members and their families.
All proceeds from this fundraiser will go to the USO Northwest allowing us to support America’s military service members and their families throughout the states of Washington and Oregon. USO-NW provides programs and services designed to meet the unique needs of today’s military and their families. With the help of more than 600 volunteers, USO Northwest serves over 750,000 military and their families annually. USO Northwest provides support to those who need it the most including military deploying overseas and returning home, military families, wounded warriors and their families and families of the fallen.

Opportunity Details

The Glenn Garcelon Foundation will be hosting a fundraiser to benefit brain tumor patients and their families. Taste of Hope will be held in August at Jupiter NEXT in Portland. The evening will include chocolate, cheese, appetizer, wine, beer and silent auction.
In order to hold a successful event, we will need many volunteers to help solicit sponsorships, auction items, food, beverages and/or serve on the committee. In addition, we will need volunteers on the day of event to set-up, break-down, as well as during the event

Opportunity Details

The Front of House & Concession Volunteer assists with the Front of House duties at VIFF’s Vancity Theatre. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, ushering, scanning tickets, managing lineups, assisting the box office, working the VIFF Membership Table, assisting with member online purchases using a tablet, serving snacks and drinks and customer service. All Front of House Volunteers are required to get the Serving It Right Certificate.

The role is good for someone who:

For the holiday season Rechanging Lives will be providing at-risk youth and their community with warm/gift items. Our goal is to also provide take home meals for families. We would love to have Kohl's employees to bring unwrapped toys/bears/children's books.

Opportunity Details

To sell food and beverages at Enchantment in the Park. Proceeds support Senior Citizens Activities, Inc., a senior center that provides over 200 social, educational and exercise activities per month to healthy, active people over age 50. There are no membership dues so our fundraising is very important. Community volunteers ensure that our organization remains a part of, not apart from, our greater community. Kohl's volunteers have been welcome participants over past years.
