We are quickly approaching our annual gala Fur Ball on Saturday, November 10 at the Francis Marion Hotel.
We are looking for volunteers the day of and during the event in the evening.
We have two shifts to choose from (if you need to leave early during the day that is fine but you will need to stay in the evening. We will need help until the end) 9 am - 3 pm and 5 pm to Midnight.

Our Mission is to maintain the traditions of our forefathers in preserving the customs and culture passed down from generation to generation with special regard to the dance of Bavaria known as the Schuhplattler.

Please join us by assisting our Bavarian dance club with cooking and/or selling brats, breaded pork, bread dumplings with gravy, sauerkraut and selling delicious already prepared baked goods.

Opportunity Details

Heroes Among Us of Texas is an IRS 501(c)(3) program that provides funding for military veterans’ initiatives through different sponsored events. Although we support several veterans’ projects, our primary focus is in support of Patriot Anglers Fly Fishing and the Ft. Hood Warrior Transition Unit. HAU not only provides financial support for these programs, but actively participates with them throughout the year, engaging in holiday outreach programs and personal support efforts.

Other organizations we have helped: Over the years we have provided funding for many other veteran initiatives including 22 KILL, HOMH (Help Our Military Heroes), Texas Tech University School of Nursing Veteran Scholarship program, and the Adaptive Training Foundation in Dallas.

In 2016 we teamed with Help Our Military Heroes to present a new specially adapted van to quadriplegic wounded warrior.

Opportunity Details

Norwin Play It Forward Fund is hosting its 9th annual Wind Up, Wine Down and Music on Tap benefit. This night is our single annual event to benefit student recipients of the fund. We are seeking local Kohl's volunteers who will each manage a single food station: Replenishing food item(s) and dishing out servings to guests. Easy work. We are trying a new venue this year: Vangura at the Kitchen by Vangura on Route 30 in North Huntingdon. In exchange, volunteers will receive free admission, food, and good music by the Good Guys! Please say yes. It's a fun night and the work is easy!

Celebrating Americas Military on Post at USO Fort Sam Houston.
We are looking for 40 volunteers to help us serve Americas military and families by helping us prep, set-up, execute, and clean-up for our event between the hours of 9am to 3pm. The tasks we will need help with are:
*Giving a tour our amazing center and fitness area.
*Serve food and drinks
*Oversee Kids Zone and Outdoor Games
*Custodial (Take out Trash, wipe down tables, etc.)

We are hosting an event for families with children between the ages 0-12. Our goal is to take some stress off of parents by providing pumpkin decorating, costume assistance, games and activities on the Sunday before Halloween.
