Prevent Child Abuse Illinois will host the first annual Downtown Springfield Family FunFest on September 8, 2018. The event will take place on Washington between 5th and 6th Streets from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Tickets are $10 per person (children 2 and under are free). All profits will go to support the work of Prevent Child Abuse Illinois.

This one-of-a-kind festival, designed specifically for children and families, will include inflatable bounce houses and mazes, a gaming trailer, roving characters, games, crafts and so much more including a main stage featuring local and celebrity acts.

Come out to have a ton of fun and support a great cause. Advanced tickets are on sale now. Family discounts are available for advanced tickets only. Want to support the cause but live too far away or can’t make it on September 8th? No problem! You can still make a difference in a very real way. With our VIRTUAL TICKET option, you can support the programs of PCA Illinois and provide a free ticket for a family who couldn’t otherwise afford to attend. Virtual tickets will be turned into actual tickets that will be given to low-income children and families.

The Downtown Springfield Family FunFest isn't just an excuse to get together and have a ton of fun! The FunFest is also a chance for all of us to come together for the best cause of all: protecting our children. Sponsor and volunteer opportunities are still available. What began as a simple soup line in 1969 has become a village-wide festival that draws 50,000+ locals and tourists. Burgoo is a pioneer stew cooked over fire in six gigantic kettles beside the historic I&M canal. Community volunteers stay up all night to watch over the stew, which must be stirred continuously - it's something of a ritual to ring in the big day! This year is special because we get to celebrate the 50th anniversary of this event, which is not only one of the largest and longest-running festivals in the state of Illinois, Burgoo is a festival that successfully funds the LaSalle County Historical Society's museums and programs each and every year!
