This event celebrates the history of crafts, trades and customs of the late 1800's and early 1900's. Over 25 demonstrators/exhibitors will show basket making, embroidery, quilting, weaving, wood crafts, baking in a brick oven and more.Also, Flag Day is being celebrated at Stony Hill School and we will need volunteers to set up and take down chairs.

Anderson Point Park, 20 Anderson Point Dr, Raleigh, NC 27610The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) is looking for volunteers for our annual MUSCLE WALK on September 8th. Volunteers earn 5 hours of volunteer time and receive breakfast and lunch for helping out with this great event. Volunteers will be assigned to event logistics including set up, registration, games and more. The MDA MUSCLE WALK raises money for families in Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill that have neuromuscular disease. Our annual Children's Festival will be held on Saturday, August 25th from 9am - 12 pm at Myrick Park in La Crosse. At the Children’s Festival, 500-600 parents, caregivers, and their children experience play that lays the foundation for success. Support of this event will also give local families access to FREE parent support and education programs throughout the year.We are requesting volunteers to bake 200-300 cookies for the event. The cookies can be baked off site and dropped off at Myrick Park the morning of the Children's Festival.

With over 400 guests expected from large corporate industries including media, banking, hospitality, real estate and retail, this year’s fundraiser will support MDA's local services including sending children with muscular dystrophy and related muscle debilitating diseases to summer camp. By taking part in this evening, you will be helping to send over 150 children with muscle disease to MDA Summer Camp, “The Best Week of the Year”!
The evening's awards and live auction will be presented by International Chef, Best-Selling Author, TV Star & Global Brand Ambassador, Dan Churchill.

Opportunity Details
Candlelighters Fun Walk is our largest family fundraiser of our event year. Families of children with cancer come together in honor of their child to raise funds to pay it forward to families who find themselves along similar journeys. The event hosts more than 500 people and raises more than $200,000 for Candlelighters, a local Houston non-profit that provides every day support to children with cancer.100% of profits raised through the Fun Walk will be used to directly impact the lives of children with cancer and their families specifically by sending approximately 50 families to our family camp (Camp CLIFF) in the fall. Thank you for being a part of this mission!
