On behalf of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh (BBBS), we invite you to Start Something for local children facing adversity by supporting an upcoming benefit event. BBBS Pancake Breakfast, the second annual BBBS event of its kind, is scheduled for Saturday, June 16th from 9AM-12PM at the First Presbyterian Church in Washington, PA. Street parking will be available in front of the church free of charge since the event is being held on a Saturday. Signs will be displayed on the day of the event to direct volunteers to the sign-in location. Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: dish washing/drying, serving, cleaning tables, greeting attendees, facilitating games for children at the event, and possibly cooking(pancakes, eggs, and bacon). BBBS is happy to provide a meal for all volunteers before the end of their shift!
Since this will be a community-friendly event and Kohls volunteers participated last year, we would appreciate your continued support. The mission of BBBS is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better – forever. Nationally, we see that children enrolled in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program are 46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs, 27% less likely to begin using alcohol, and 52% less likely to skip school.

This Project is specific to the Food event which will run 5PM - 11PM and we will do 2 shifts of 5 people

This fundraiser was our largest last year and provided over thirty beds for children in Okaloosa County that do not have a bed of their own. Our goal this year is to have more supporters join us for the dinner and provide more beds than we provided last year. Every child deserves to have a bed of their own.We need volunteers to serve and clear each course. Our chefs will orchestrate and give instructions of when everything needs to be done. Everyone receives the same plate, so no order taking. Wear black solid clothing, hair back and comfortable, flat shoes. Please bring your smile!
