This fundraiser supports the financial needs of the band and its students. Money is made from door money, raffle baskets, split the pots, concessions, and live auction baked goods.The association will use the funds it has raised to provide music, instruments, transportation, and instruction to these aspiring musicians. A complimentary dinner will be provided to all volunteers.

Opportunity Details
The Friends of Hales Corners Library is an independent non-profit organization that supports the Hales Corners Library in developing library services and in encouraging use of those services and resources in the community. This year, the Friends has a goal of raising $5,000 to support the library’s 2019 summer reading program. Here are some details of the program that the Friends support:- The summer reading program not only provides incentives for building reading habits, but also includes arts and crafts, movies, entertainment and educational events and presentations for all ages.
- With the launch of the program “1000 Books Before Kindergarten” we saw the number of children who read at least 100 books increase by 68%.
- Our 15 Book Squad Volunteers, young adults ages 12-14, contributed 682 service hours to the library as during the program, providing them with experience valuable for securing their first employment.
- With the increases in program participation and rising costs of performance acts, support from the Friends is needed more than ever. The Friends organization is committed provide that support.
We need help 2 or 3 volunteers for each of the shifts noted below, on the day of this event - Thursday, March 7, 2019:
- 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm: help setting up the upper and lower levels of the library.
- 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm: help in the kitchen with appetizer tables
- 8:30 pm to 10:00 pm: help cleaning up after the event

The House of Refuge (THOR), open as of May 2010, is a nonprofit Christian transitional living facility for women. It is designed to foster positive growth and development in a structured environment that will offer healing, hope, and restoration. THOR is a passage way for women to leave negative lifestyle behaviors and re-establish them in their lives and into society. Each year our program has an annual leadoff dinner. It recognizes the players who have been selected for the team and essentially kicks off the start of the season.
