Team 303-RAMP will sell food and drink to support Team 303's hosting of a major regional FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) the weekend of March 16-18, 2018. We cook food for breakfast, lunch and dinner for more than 2000 visitors and participants. The benefit of the money raised from this event is to help this year's 70-member team prepare to participate in local and national robotics competitions as well as promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) in the Bridgewater-Raritan community. The students design and build a robot. Plus they develop a marketing and business plan which they present at the competitions. Examples of Team 303 community outreach include: organizing a district-wide science fair and special needs sensory program,
visiting elementary schools to promote STEM, marching in the Raritan Basilone parade with their robot, mentoring new robotics team, and supporting the township's Ovarian Cancer awareness program. In addition, the team shares its practice field with other local robotics teams so that those teams may test their robot.
The annual Bridgewater Robotics Competition is a 3-day event attended by over 35 robotics teams from around NJ and neighboring mid-Atlantic states. Please see www.303gametime.org for a list of teams. Special VIPs who have attended this event in the past include Senator Cory Booker, U.S.Congressman Leonard Lance and the Bridgewater Mayor. In addition, there has been newspaper coverage in "The Courier News" and "The Breeze".
