Saturday May 14, 2022 marks the ninth year of the annual Red Wig Walk. Presented by Metro Health, the Red Wig Walk raises awareness for HIV prevention, treatment, and support services in the Baton Rouge area. This event will be in the heart of downtown at AZ Young Park (800 North 3rd Street). In 2015, Baton Rouge ranked 2nd in the nation for HIV diagnoses rates among large metro areas. Furthermore, 84% of new HIV diagnoses in Baton Rouge were in East Baton Rouge Parish. Even more alarmingly, 85% of new HIV diagnoses in Baton Rouge were among African Americans. The Red Wig Walk brings awareness to this HIV epidemic and provides education as well as screenings to help stem the tide of HIV/AIDS and other health issues in our community.

Assistance is requested in helping run a fundraiser for the Oconee County High School Wrestling team. The wrestling team is hosting the Oconee Novice Winter Bash, a wrestling tournament for beginner wrestlers. Help is needed with registration and working a concession stand.

Opportunity Details

Our Brew Ha Ha is our biggest fundraiser of the year. We serve the Northeast Ohio Down syndrome community and have had over 1,000 participants in our programs and have served more than 200 families in our first two years. Our therapeutic and education programs are free for our families so that cost is not a barrier to achievement. This fundraiser allows us to continue our quality programming at no cost!
