Out Annual 5k Tulip trot and 1 Mile Tiny trot is a wonderful opportunity for our Waugh families and community to get active and raise needed funds for our teachers and students. We are in need of volunteers to stand in certain areas of the course to guide our runners and walkers through the course and give them words of encouragement along the way! : ) We will also need help with setting up and breaking down our refreshment table.

Opportunity Details

Help us run a premiere charity golf tournament and help the American Lung Association's mission to improve lung health and prevent lung disease. The Springfield Golf Classic is held at Illini Country Club in Springfield, IL and volunteers are needed in shifts

Morning Hospitality tent or golf course runner 7 00am - 12 00 noon
Afternoon Hospitality tent and golf course runner 1 00pm - 6 00pm (approximate end time)
There are some tasks that will require walking or standing outdoors for long periods, and some tasks that the volunteer will be seated. Mid-June can be very hot, so please consider this before volunteering. Volunteers must be at least 21 years old. Golf course dress code applies to volunteers.

Opportunity Details

The 19th Annual Carnival for CASA is a fundraiser for Jackson County CASA and will take place from noon to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 30th at Faulkner's Ranch, 10600 Raytown Road, Kansas City, Missouri. The event will help Jackson County CASA serve at least half of the children who are under court protection. Through sponsorship, we also invite every CASA child to attend the event for free.

We are looking for volunteers to help set up, oversee numerous attractions and activities during the event and also clean up. All volunteers will be provided lunch and beverages. If you are interested in volunteering, please click on our signup.com link.

Admission includes lunch, access to Faulkner's Ranch attractions such as petting farm, bounce house, mechanical bull, zip line, super slide and activities exclusive to the carnival such as face painting and temporary tattoos.

Carnival admission is $30 per child in advance and $35 on the day of the event. Children under 2 are free. Adult tickets, which include lunch and unlimited participation in all activities, are $15. Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.CASAKC.org. (Early Bird special to purchase 4 child tickets by May 31 for $100 and receive 1 Adult ticket FREE).

Over 400 children served by Jackson County CASA would like to attend Carnival. You can sponsor a child to attend with a donation of $30.

Volunteer in our concession stands by working with our staff to take orders, serve food to customers, and enjoy our fun atmosphere with baseball and softball games ranging from t-ball to college games! We are a non-profit organization focused on providing safe, enjoyable and rewarding opportunities for kids to participate in the great sports of T-ball, baseball, and softball. Volunteers help us keep staff costs down and raise money to improve our fields, buy new equipment, and continue providing kids the opportunity to grow as players and people.

Opportunity Details

We will host a free ice cream social and open house. Ice cream and popsicles will be served and a bounce house will be available for playing in. This event will be open to preschool families to celebrate a completed school year. It will also be open to the community both as an open house to register for fall classes and as an outreach. Volunteers will assist in setting up tables and the bounce house, serving the treats, overseeing play in the bounce house and clean up afterwards.

The goal of Lunch Break's annual Foodstock-Up is to collect 200,000 pounds of donated food to keep our pantry shelves stocked during the summer months. Hunger doesn't take a vacation and neither does Lunch Break. Volunteers are needed from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm to sort and load food on the trucks.
