Opportunity Details

Breakfast with Santa and the Holiday shop is one of the biggest events our PTA does all year long. It gives student a chance to shop for low cost items for their families, see Santa and enjoy breakfast. The proceeds from this event go to improving technology at our school among so many other things.

Opportunity Details

This a holiday themed event where we provide a gift to each child, we have Santa Claus there to meet each child, and we provide ice cream sundaes to the kids. This is a super awesome event, as last year, the older students in 7th and 8th grade were helping the younger kids pick our their gift. We also get the ice cream donated from the Humboldt Creamery, which is super delicious. Volunteers will help set up the toys according to age groups and help serve the ice cream sundaes. The students also sing Christmas carols while they are waiting for their grades turn to meet Santa and receive the other items. This is a super fun event!!

Opportunity Details

We never have enough volunteers for events. For our Spring Party we are in need of a few people to chaperone and run some 'games' with the DJ. A hand with the decorating and set up would also be helpful. This is the first time in many years there has been a spring party at Walnut Springs. We hope to make this a huge success to set the tone for years to come. The students have not had a party since Halloween and it's a great way for them to get together and socialize indoors. The theme is roaring twenties and costumes are encouraged.

Opportunity Details

This event will help provide funds to help student athletes have a successful season and lift financial strain on families who are struggling. We also provide nutritious meals, pay fees, uniforms, new and used equipment, and so much more. This event is to help set up the concessions and then help until the game begins at 2pm. Opportunity Details

The AFJROTC Booster Club operates a concession stand during the girls Varsity and JV basketball games. The cadets are responsible for running the stand. This gives the cadets a chance to learn about teamwork, management, multi-tasking and customer service. The boosters oversee the cadets efforts and provide support. Volunteers will assists the cadets in operating the concession stand.

Each year we have helped to make the holiday’s bright for hundreds of the lowest-income families throughout Greater Boston. Smart from the start invites all of our families and celebrate holiday traditions from around the world such as Three Kings, Chinese New Year, Eid, Christmas and much more. Families will enjoy free food, music, holiday games, arts and crafts, gifts and fun all around!

Opportunity Details

Our Education Foundation provides a fun fundraiser while providing a family activity during the holiday season. We have a family breakfast at President's elementary school in Arlington on Saturday, Dec 7th 2019. We have two timeslots for families to choose from; either 8:30 am and 10:30 am. We have a hot cocoa bar, arts and crafts, and pictures with Santa included in the ticket price. We have special children’s characters coming also to take pictures with kids and families. This exciting and magical fundraiser helps our foundation be able to bring in money to give grants to classrooms. These classroom mini-grants assist with educational opportunities in our local community. We would love volunteers to help with serving food, taking pictures, helping with kids arts and crafts, or checking in the registered guests.

Opportunity Details

The Hispanic Mentoring Program launched in February 2019 with a goal of helping to increase the graduation rate of Hispanic students through mentorship (middle school). This past summer, our program hosted a one week summer camp filled with arts & crafts, STEM sessions, and a field trip. This upcoming summer, our program wants to host this camp for two weeks to be able to provide more engaging opportunities for students.
