About Passions
The history of Passions dates back to 2002, to a small charity cooking class at Barbara-Jo’s
Books to Cooks. In 2004, the event was moved to the Dr. Peter Centre and titled Passions.
Organized by Vancouver food media personality Nathan Fong, the inaugural event featured
nine chefs, and 100 attendees and raised $7,000. Under Nathan’s stewardship, Passions has
tripled in size and become one of Vancouver’s most popular food and wine events, raising
much-needed funds for the Dr. Peter Centre.

About the Dr. Peter Centre:
The Dr. Peter Centre is a non-profit organization based in Vancouver and provides progressive
health care for people with HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, and complex mental health issues. The
Centre offers a broad spectrum of services, from day health to long-term residential care,
keeping them all connected to their community of health.

Enthusiastic volunteers needed for performances in the ISC Studio! Up next is our production of A Christmas Carol with Charles Dickens. Our annual holiday tradition returns for its 20th year! Join us as we recreate (with a little artistic license) the experience of a public reading of A Christmas Carol, given by Charles Dickens himself.

We need volunteers at every ISC Studio production to help us welcome guests with a smile, help them find a seat, and serve cocktails and warm cider at the bar. As a thank you, volunteers will be able to watch that evening's performance free of charge! Volunteering in the studio is a fun way to connect with fellow volunteers and audience members in a quieter, calmer setting than the Festival. It's also a great way to get an extra dose of holiday cheer!
