This Ol’ School Benefit Concert and Dance is a fundraiser to sustain our current programs for youth ages 11-17 in foster care or at risk of school failure; to add programs for youth ages 18-21 aging out of the foster care system, and to defray cost of social media management and digital marketing for virtual programs. This event features a live band, live performances from several local artists paying tribute to soul legends like Teddy Pendergrass, Gladys Knight, Phyllis Hyman to name a few, a live DJ will spin old school 80's and 90's R&B songs, a laser light show, a VIP reception and vendors.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana (RMHC-CNI) exists so families can get better together. Families staying at a Ronald McDonald House are often far from the comforts of home, including freshly prepared meals. Through Meals from the Heart, volunteers provide meals for families, allowing them to eat together without the stress of cooking or the expense of dining out.

Whether you’re looking for a teambuilding activity for colleagues or a fun way to give back with friends, Meals from the Heart is a great way to give families a taste of home.

Meals from the Heart volunteer groups (up to four volunteers per group) handle the meal planning and preparation from start to finish. Volunteers create their menu, purchase all necessary ingredients, and cook their meal in our fully-equipped Ronald McDonald House kitchens.

Opportunity Details

Caribbean American Heritage month is celebrated in June. On June 25, 2022. AHP will host its 2nd annual festival which will showcase the culture, food, art, fun, music & diversity of the Caribbean. Proceeds from our inaugural festival allowed AHP to send 10 kids to summer camp with Henrico Parks and Rec. We were able to give 150 hygiene packs to families in Haiti, host a back to school book bag drive for 150 students in Richmond, VA as well as send supplies to the Bahamas for hurricane victims. We hope to double our efforts in 2022.
