Looking for a fun way to give back with your family? Join Autism Society - The Heartland for our 3rd annual 5K/1K Fun Run at Worlds of Fun on Saturday, May 2. This race will benefit the lives of all affected by Autism in Kansas and Missouri.

This event gives participants the unique opportunity to run or walk a 5k or 1k course in and around an amusement park. The 5k race will begin at 8:00 a.m., followed by the 1k at 8:15 a.m. All registered 5k participants will receive a t-shirt, finisher’s medal, and be chip timed! All registered 1k participants will receive a t-shirt!

The first 300 registered participants will receive a FREE Worlds of Fun ticket to use after the race or any day through September 13, 2020. Please note registered participants will not be granted entrance into the park until Worlds of Fun opens to the public at 10:30 a.m. the day of the event. Parking will be complimentary for participants on the day of the event. Participants who choose to redeem their free ticket between May 3, 2020 and September 13, 2020 will no longer be provided complimentary parking.

Special pricing for the 5k and 1k is available to our families with PAID ASH Memberships. Please contact our office (913-706-0042) to get the special discount codes!

More Race Day Details

Returning runners will enjoy a few slight changes to the start/finish line and the official race route, which will take participants through the park and around their favorite attractions. To learn more about our event partner, please visit worldsoffun.com. The 5k course will have long stretches of gravel that would be difficult with a stroller. We would advise against using a stroller to avoid any issues while on the 5k course. The 1k course will be completely paved and stroller friendly.

The start/finish line will also host a resource fair to showcase companies that offer services and support for families touched by Autism. Please see Sponsor information on this website to find out more about hosting a vendor table for your organization!

Volunteer opportunities are also available and include FREE admission to Worlds of Fun the day of the event.

Onsite registration will be available. 5k onsite registration will be $45 and 1k onsite registration will be $20.
