The Castroville Artichoke Food & Wine Festival has moved to the Monterey County Fair & Event Center,on the beautiful Monterey Peninsula. This year’s event will be on June 1 and 2, 2019 where we will
celebrate the:
• 60th Anniversary of the Castroville Artichoke Food & Wine Festival, AND
• The Artichoke as the Official Vegetable of Monterey County (1986), as well the California
Legislature’s designation of the artichoke as the Official State Vegetable (2014)!
Our move to the Monterey County Fairgrounds in 2014 allowed the Festival to improve and expand the
two-day event at a landscaped, permanent facility capable of hosting an anticipated 20,000 visitors. The
Castroville Artichoke Food & Wine Festival is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and is fully run by over
300+ volunteers.
With the growth of our event comes the need for even more volunteers—we hope you will consider
sharing your time and talents at our festival. Your help aids us in providing support and benefits through
cash and donations to non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations throughout the California central coast, such as
local school sports & education programs, animal rehabilitation and community education programs,
cancer support services, community programs that serve seniors and at risk youth, food insecurity in our
local community, and health and nutrition education programs.
This is a tremendous opportunity to participate in a one-of-a-kind event that combines a long-standing
community tradition at a legendary venue, in a world-renowned travel destination. Join the generations
of families who have been a part of the Castroville Artichoke Food & Wine Festival’s history and find out
why our hearts are dedicated to the "Artichoke Center of the World."
Individuals and clubs wishing to volunteer for the Castroville Artichoke Food & Wine Festival must
complete a Volunteer Application (attached), and will be contacted by the Festival Committee about
next steps and placement for working on committees.

Steeped in over 70 years of tradition, Coordinated Youth & Human Services (CYHS), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has been a mainstay in the community by adhering to the mission of meeting the ever-changing needs of youth and their families. Serving as a lead agency for a multitude of health, education, and social services, CYHS prides itself in obtaining various grants and providing quality outcome-oriented programs. Programs include on-site Educational Programs, Madison County AIDS Program (MadCAP), Community Prevention Programming, and Maternal Child Health programs including Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), Family Case Management (FCM), and Healthy Families Illinois (HFI). CYHS is an umbrella organization for serving high-risk populations and is a true collaboration in the social service arena. With your help, we will be able to continue to serve the region’s neediest infants, youth and families. Our overarching agency goal is to “achieve the highest outcomes with the highest risk populations in the region.” Our goals can only be accomplished with the generosity of supporters like you! On behalf of the 27,000 youth and families we serve annually, we thank you for joining us in striving to achieve the best outcomes that ensure a positive difference in their lives. CYHS has recently established a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) program to expand and enhance experiential learning opportunities for students who have difficulty in the traditional school setting. The STEM program allows for increased hands-on activities and integrates a variety of technology resources to engage students in learning activities. Currently, the STEM program is housed in the STEM classroom. Through partnerships, CYHS will be able to expand this program to further utilize technology to increase virtual learning opportunities within and beyond the STEM classroom. These resources will create intentional connections between academic content and real-world learning, help foster active engagement in their learning and develop marketable skills to use as students begin their careers.Available Shifts
