Serving meals or staying overnight as a volunteer at our shelter (all clients are drug screened and background checked, and all volunteers who stay overnight have their own locked room). We encourage volunteers to start by bringing dinner and hanging out with our families. Your presence as positive role models and a safety net for families in need is a critical component of Family Promise's success.

The Conquer Chiari Walk Across America is an annual fundraising and awareness event comprised of a series of local walks held on the same day. In 2017, the event was held at 80 locations, involved more than 10,000 participants, and raised over $450,000. We are proud to say that, to date, we have funded over $3.5 million in Chiari research. The 11th annual walk in Michigan will be held at Stony Creek Metropark on Saturday, September 22, 2018. Chiari Malformation is a serious neurological disorder where
the bottom part of the brain, the cerebellum, descends out of the
skull and crowds the spinal cord, putting pressure on both the
brain and spine and causing many symptoms. It can strike
children and adults and cause crippling headaches, neck pain,
balance problems, trouble breathing, numbness and weakness
in the limbs, and a host of other problems. To date there has
been very little research on Chiari and fundamental questions
regarding its underlying cause, diagnosis, and treatment remain
unanswered. It is estimated that Chiari affects over 300,000
people in the US. Thank you for helping us raise money and awareness!

Dear Kohls Volunteers,

Thank you so much for your interest in helping our baseball team! Come out and help a youth baseball team while enjoying a great game on a summer day! Our team will be playing a double header with game times at 8 AM and 11 AM.

We are a 13-year old Baseball Team based in Lake County Illinois and part of the 2018 Lake County Lightning travel baseball program, a program supporting twelve teams up to age 17. Our team is comprised of dedicated players from towns all over Lake County with several from Grayslake and Gurnee.

As a travel baseball team our goal is to work hard, develop our baseball skills, compete, and have fun while bettering players for baseball and life. This year is a big year as we are going to Omaha this summer during the College World Series! Our team has many expenses including uniforms, umpire fees, field rentals, tournament fees, travel expenses and training, etc.

On June 16th we are hosting a home game at Behm Park 22222 W. Behm Park Ln. (1/2 mile east of Route 60 at Peterson Road) Grayslake, IL 60030. We will need volunteer help for electronic score keeping (a lesson promised) as well as setting up & running a mini-concession table including a grill for hotdogs and brats. If there are enough volunteers then game field prep would be helpful also. All help will be appreciated!
.
Your support of our team is greatly appreciated while continuing to give our teammates the incentive to become better players in the game of baseball and the game of life. Thank you so much for your time.

Thank you for your support. If you have questions, please contact Angie Houtz 847-309-5475.

Sincerely,
The Lake County Lightning 13U Krebs Baseball Team
