The AFJROTC program includes high school students from all six Delaware County High Schools. While developing teamwork and leadership skills, cadets learn the values of citizenship, patriotism, service to their community, personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment.

AFJROTC prepares these young Americans to better serve their communities as leaders, as citizens and in military service should they choose to enter it.

On Febuary,17 2018 we are hosting the 15th annual Regional Drill Meet, which will be held at Rutherford B. Hayes High School. Around 10 schools in total participate in this event. It is a full day of drill and ceremonies competition according to military standards. It strengthens team and leadership skills.

We rely on our amazing volunteers to help with many aspects of our guide and service dog operations. Volunteers are the lifeblood of any not-for-profit organization, and without the dedication, commitment, and support of these giving individuals, the Guide Dog Foundation could not accomplish our mission. Last year, our volunteers donated more than 4.5 million hours of their time to help us serve people with disabilities.

Our volunteer family includes puppy raisers, individuals who act as advisers on our board of directors, work in our kennels, and host events to raise money for our programs. They help out in the office or transport puppies and adult dogs. They also go on speaking engagements and lead tours, help serve meals when class is in session, and socialize with students during free time.

Here are some of the Foundation volunteer opportunities below.

WHY: We're excited to put on our 2nd annual benefit event to power the TangoStride Program, providing our amazing students with hope and the opportunity to leave their walkers, wheelchairs and canes behind in our weekly classes! Our annual fundraiser is where we raise the bulk of our funds that allow us to ensure that money is never a barrier for anyone who can benefit to participate in our classes (we have never turned anyone away for lack of funds!).

VOLUNTEERS: This is a big project that takes a village, so we're seeking volunteers to help day of the event from 12-6pm with set-up, food, beverages, silent auction, tear-down, etc. Please contact us at hugsthatempower@gmail.com to join our team of volunteers.
