The Essex County LGBT RAIN Foundation is looking to have a great person join our team. We have amazing stories to share with our audience to help further bring awareness to the work we’re doing to end homelessness as well as provide emergency housing for LGBT homeless in NJ. We have a unique opportunity to help provide housing to those that may have been kicked out of them homes for a variety of reasons and we need to get the word out!Help share our stories by using our social media channels to promote awareness, send positive news updates, build outreach and grow our mission.

Take control of our online voice and build brand awareness and loyalty. The Community Manager will be responsible for aligning all company communications, PR, social media, and marketing content to create a strong brand identity. You will be the first point of contact for in person and online fans and followers, thus developing an intimate relationship with our community

We are looking for a qualified Community manager to join our team. If you are a tech-savvy professional, experienced in social media, PR and promotional events, we would like to meet you.
Our ideal candidate has exceptional oral and written communication skills and is able to develop engaging content. You should be a ‘people person’ with great customer service skills and the ability to moderate online and offline conversations with our community.
Ultimately, you should be able to act as the face and voice of our brand and manage all community communications.
Responsibilities

Requirements
• Proven work experience as a community manager
• Experience launching community initiatives (e.g. building an online forum, launching an ambassador program, creating an event series and writing an email newsletter)
• Ability to identify and track relevant community metrics (e.g. repeat attendance at events)
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Excellent writing skills
• Hands on experience with social media management for brands
• Ability to interpret website traffic and online customer engagement metrics
• Knowledge of online marketing and marketing channels
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask
• BSc degree in Marketing or relevant field

Opportunity Details
Objective:To provide assistance the organization in identifying donor resources, raising funds and writing proposals for long-term organizational sustainability.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Compile and maintain a database of international and local donor organizations (international foundations, bilateral and multilateral agencies and private corporations offering donations)
Regularly monitor donor websites and identify and inform donor opportunities matching the work of the organization
Maintain a website and regularly update it with information about organization’s work
Assist the Director in writing concept notes, project ideas and project proposals and ensure their timely submission
Undertake independent research in finding alternative resources for long-term sustainability of the organization
Assist the Director in developing business plans to generate income from various sources.
Undertake online research and build contacts with potential individual donors and raise funds for the activities of the organization.
Maintain relationships with existing donors and respond to their requests regularly and keep updating them about the work of the organization
Improve and develop communications material for the organization such as brochure, website, annual report, DVD, poster etc.
Organize or provide assistance in organizing any fundraising events for the organization
Suggest other innovative ideas for effective resource mobilization.

Job Summary
Raise funds for our cause and regularly meet or surpass fundraising targets.
Research potential donors to gain insight into needs, beliefs and donation habits to understand how to position our organization to them.
Assist in brainstorming and creating new methods to raise funds for our organization
Leverage technology and social media where possible to improve fundraising activities
Assist in planning and coordinating events meant to raise funds and coordinate activities of volunteers and interns related to event planning and execution
Create marketing materials, like flyers and brochures, to be used for the promotion of events and other fundraising pushes
Analyze the performance of events and other fundraising activities for effectiveness and to identify areas where money can be saved
Maintain complete and orderly records of donors and manage regular donor communications
Build upon existing donor relationships and form new donor relationships on a regular basis
Collaborate with other organizations and groups within the community to build partnerships and enhance fundraising activities
Building Relationships and Networks - connecting across the organization to develop a deep understanding of different needs to help define and answer critical business questions.
Team Initiatives - support various internal team efforts including technology adoption, learning and development, and social events.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Minimum two years of fundraising experience.

The Boys & Girls Club is holding a “Limitless” Virtual 5K Walk and Run on Saturday and Sunday, September 25 & 26, 2020. The event is open to youth and adults and can be done in the comfort of your own home (i.e. treadmill, etc), around your house or apartment, at a local trail, beach, or park. It is “limitless” meaning you can do it anywhere and anytime during that weekend!We need your help by sponsoring the event! Proceeds from The Boys & Girls Club’s Virtual Walk & Run will benefit the Club’s virtual programming for area youth!
