Each year, The CL Education Foundation organizes and runs the Cardington-Lincoln School District's annual Holiday Bazaar. The bazaar is a community-wide event, and features performances by CL students, over 60 craft vendors, food concessions, and fundraising opportunities for district grades and student groups.

We need 5 volunteers on Saturday, November 17, from 8 AM until noon and then noon until 4 PM to run several functions: a photoshoot using a backdrop of Santa's Sleigh, "Timeless Tree," on which community members place a snowflake to remember loved ones from holidays past, and "Adopt-a-Tree," a silent auction of pre-lit trees decorated by school groups and grades. The "Santa's Sleigh" photoshoot and "Timeless Tree" are free to all, and "Adopt-a-Tree" is a fundraiser for the participating school grades and groups.

Not only will this be a huge help to the Cardington school community, but it will be fun as well!

CityMusic Cleveland’s continued success comes in large part from members in the community who volunteer to help. In the neighborhoods where we perform, as well as in the surrounding communities, we need volunteers to distribute our postcards and posters to libraries, coffee shops, retirement villages, senior centers, high school music departments, local music schools, and stores. Volunteer ushers assist ant concerts, and volunteers can help organize post-concert receptions. People with computer skills, graphic skills, or who can assist with marketing and public relations are always in demand. If you are interested in volunteering your time, educating the community, and enjoying the performing arts, call CityMusic Cleveland at (216) 632-5792 or contact us at info@citymusiccleveland.org.

This free celebration, attracting at least 250 visitors, features different aspects of wildlife each year. Previous themes include crepuscular and nocturnal forest creatures, and currently threatened species or those which have overcome endangered status. Families are first are greeted by volunteer musicians in our Outdoor Classroom, where local libraries facilitate seasonal crafts and activities. The large group is then divided into smaller ones for visiting the “animals,” who are stationed along our many trails. Volunteers lead groups to each station, where an “animal” provides an interactive dialogue about forest life. (“Animals” are costumed volunteers wearing detailed, hand-crafted disguises, complete with faux fur, feathers, and props for an accurate representation of each critter.) After twelve minutes, an air-horn blasts signals for the group to rotate. After every group has cycled through each station, everyone returns to the Outdoor Classroom for donuts and cider. In contrast to other autumn activities, “Animals of Halloween” is not spooky; the family-friendly program is designed to educate and entertain visitors of all ages.
