The Group Executive Committee supports the Group Scout Leader and ensures the effective administration of the Scout Group.

The Group Executive Committee aims to make sure that the Scout Group has the facilities and resources needed to deliver good Scouting in the Group. This includes:
- ensuring the maintenance of the Group's property and equipment
- the raising of funds and the administration of the Group's finances
- the insurance of persons, property and equipment
- assisting with the recruitment of Leaders and other adult support
- operates to the requirements of the Charity Commission of England and Wales

Opportunity Details

Currently, we have openings for our feral kitten tamers team. The tamers spend time with each kitten and teach them to trust humans. This involves providing holding, playing with, providing, food, medication, vaccinations and clean housing for each animal. These shifts are 5-6 hours per week. We have monthly orientations and a team leader who provides individual training. We have on-line train on topics such as animal care and husbandry.

The mission of the PVSS Board is to lead the advancement of PVSS’ mission and vision with excellence and to ensure effective oversight, governance and sustainability.

The Board is committed to a culture of self-driven initiative, fearlessness, integrity, and accountability. Geographically and functionally diverse, the Board provides leadership to advance the mission and vision of PVSS by generating opportunities for community engagement and fundraising. The Board of Directors at PVSS represents an engaged, passionate, diverse, fearless, and self-directed group of cross-sector stakeholders.

BOARD’S ROLES:
Education. Self-educates on issues of homelessness and human services and self-directs individual and collective learning and action.

Fundraising. Leading by example, 100% of Board is engaged in personal giving. Exercising their unique, personal voice and passion for the mission, all Board members are expected to fearlessly use personal and professional clout/influence to generate beneficial relationships and funding for our PVSS foundational future.

Mission. Embraces and embodies the mission of PVSS; individuals and Board articulate in their own terms PVSS’ value to the community.

Self-driven. Establishes goals and self-directs outcomes around Board’s contribution to governance, internal relations (programs, human resources), and external relations (fundraising, public relations, and marketing.)

Governance. Governs itself at a high-level, self-directing Board recruitment, establishing and measuring against SMART goals, and regularly evaluating performance.
Feedback. Provides educated and challenging direction and feedback to staff.

On October 22, 2013, Kidsave International will hold their annual gala and auction at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, DC. There will be a cocktail reception, three-course seated dinner, and both a silent and live auction. Any donations made (both through the auction and otherwise) will help Kidsave to connect dozens more children to loving families and committed mentors.

Kidsave is seeking the following:

*In-kind auction donations (hotel stays, spa visits, unique experiences, restaurant certificates, etc...).

*Fundraisers to help solicit corporate sponsorships and sell tables.

*PR professionals to help promote the event in local media

*Volunteers to help run the event on Tuesday, October, 22nd.

*Graphic designers to help create marketing collateral.

Opportunity Details

Our equine protection program educates the public about equine protection issues, advocates for public policies to protect animals, partners with corporations and community minded companies on behalf of animal-friendly policies, investigates animal cruelty and provides animal rescue. We work to reduce the suffering of at risk equines and those designated for human consumption through education and awareness about practices that cause enormous suffering. We are seeking volunteers with strong attention to detail to support our work by taking on projects such as social outreach, research, telephone communications, data entry, and general administrative support. Volunteers will work remotely from their home and will be assigned work based on availability, skills and interest.
As a volunteer in this role, you will learn more about equine welfare issues, acquire useful skills, and rest well knowing you're helping us help wild and domestic equines around the country.

EDV is an England and Wales registered charity which helps disaster-affected and at-risk communities worldwide find sustainable solutions to the problems they face. Our origins are European but our approach is global - we welcome volunteers and donros regardless of nationality!

As a small, relatively new charity, we can't employ a full time designer. This means that our mail outs have been very "samey samey" and are not engaging for our users. We want to take a fresh look at our email design and see if we can create more engaging, user friendly formats!
