This achieves a public health purpose. CrowdDoing supports a social innovation venture lab and a portfolio of social enterprises. Both the lab and the social enterprises aim to achieve systemic change through collaboration with virtual volunteers.
Role Summary:
Seeking an innovative and dedicated graphic designer to join our growing virtual volunteer team. The individual in this role would be responsible for taking conceptual design ideas and creating visual representations of them, both electronically and in print.
Essential Tasks:
Sit in on conceptual design meetings and offer educated opinions.
Determine voice and messaging for graphic design pieces.
Advise on best practices and optimizations throughout design projects.
Select colors, font, images, and layout.
Create visualizations (either by hand or via a software program) which convey accurate messaging and undertones as dictated by the project.
Develop product illustrations, logos, website graphics, etc. as needed.
Present designs to stakeholders and applicable teams.
Implement feedback and changes when appropriate.
QA designs for errors.
Pass final design to development or publishing teams for release.
Qualifications required:
A bachelor’s degree in graphic design, design, or art preferred (extensive experience in the field may also be acceptable).
Experience with Quark Xpress, InDesign, and Photo Shop a plus.
Skills & Competencies:
Exceptional creativity and innovation.
Experience with both print and electronic media.
Proficient in design and photo-editing software.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Time management and organizational skills; able to meet deadlines.
The ability and desire to stay up-to-date with commercial design/graphics trends and implement these in daily work.
Ability to work with a variety of products, applications, and software platforms, while simultaneously collaborating with a number of teams .

Description and Impact
One Act - Aid for Ukraine is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing immediate, direct personal aid to individuals and families impacted by the war in Ukraine, as well as to those helping on the ground. Using our trusted network, we target aid to those who need it in real-time.
Often with organizations and governmental aid it can take weeks or even months to get help to those in need, while we are on the ground and can distribute needed resources (e.g., food, housing, mental health/counseling, transportation, etc.) immediately. One Act adds to the chorus of aid by helping in a personal, direct way, in the moment.
We are looking for a Content & Social Media Manager to manage our usage, presence, and communications on social channels and our website. This experteer will be responsible for creating our social media strategy, as well as the tactical implementation of that strategy, including being the primary person in charge of our presence on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and any other relevant channels you advise.
You will be working with the founder and a team of enthusiastic, hardworking experteers.
PROJECT GOALS
Increase awareness of One Act Aid and our mission. Broaden our reach amongst individual and corporate donors by driving website traffic.
Drive donor acquisition, increase engagement and increase donations through our organic and (potentially) promoted ads on our social media channels.
Amplify both success stories of refugees who have benefited from donations and stories of those who are in need of support.
Provide reporting/analytics on social media performance.
Support marketing efforts in other areas.
With this project, you will support the following deliverables:
- Assist our team to manage our usage, presence, and communications on social channels and our website.
- Upskill and train our team and future volunteers by creating a guidebook for best practices for social media strategies.
Other requirements - It would be great if you have:
- Experience in running social media - full scope: strategy, testing, execution and reporting/analytics.
- Experience creating and implementing communication strategies.
- Content production skills: text, image, video.
- Experience using social media content creation and deployment tools that you advise (e.g., Hootsuite, Sproutsocial, Brand24, and similar).

Want to make an impact on the autism community? Please consider a 150 hour Externship with ASAT. The duration of the Externship program is approximately 12-18 months. A typical month includes 9-12 hours of direct Extern work, though this is flexible given the specific projects that are active at any given time. We accept Externs with a wide range of experience and backgrounds from high school through advanced graduate training. Externship activities may include the following:1) Writing for our monthly newsletter or for our website (e.g., Clinical Corner, Consumer Corner) or for our website;
2) Proofreading content of our monthly newsletter;
3) Learning how to critically evaluate published research;
4) Learning about grant writing and participating in all aspects of the process starting with grant research and selection and culminating in actual submission;
5) Learning how to evaluate and critique media representations of autism treatment;
6) Learning about fundraising conceptualization, development, and execution both at the local and national levels;
7) Actively participating in social media and learning about its use to convey information to the autism community;
8) Learning about autism services in other parts of the world and engaging in efforts to promote dissemination and awareness of science-based treatments;
10) Working alongside board members in an array of writing, editing, and fundraising activities;
11) Participating in Extern conference calls to share ideas, provide updates on externship activities, and discuss seminal articles. These calls are conducted over the phone approximately every three weeks and are scheduled at times that do not interfere with the daily professional responsibilities Externs have outside of ASAT; and
12) Working toward the completion of three individualized goals (mutually agreed upon by the Extern and ASAT).

All Board Members are expected to be an advocate for Surge’s mission and to support the delivery of the strategic plan. However each Board achieves this via different avenues and requirements.Governing Board: The Board of Directors is responsible for high-level strategy, oversight, and governance of the organization as well as support of the Executive Director.
The Advisory Board is responsible for helping Surge achieve its strategic growth objectives, with a focus on: further refining Surge's Corporate Outreach strategy; identifying potential corporate partners; and making introductions. The Board is also responsible for providing non-binding, strategic advice to the Governing Board of Directors and to the Executive Team.
The Associate Board are a group of Surge ambassadors that actively engage, cultivate and recruit supporters. They utilize their networks for donations, event attendance, volunteers and sponsors to 1) spread awareness of the global water crisis and 2) deliver a successful Annual US Gala. Associate Board members can also get involved in some of the organization's functional committees.
