Join CAN Behavioral Health's Volunteer Planning Committee and help make our 2nd Annual Fundraising Gala, "Unmasking the Stigma of Mental Health," a success! This charity event, taking place on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM, aims to support our core programs, cover general expenses, and introduce new initiatives.We need volunteers to assist with various tasks such as promoting the event through social media, newsletters, and door-to-door campaigns, distributing flyers, selling gala and raffle tickets, securing sponsorships and table underwriters, gathering silent auction items, speaking on behalf of CAN, setting up and decorating the venue, and cleaning up afterward.
Your commitment will involve attending a volunteer orientation, an in-person kickoff meeting, and monthly virtual meetings until January 2025, after which we'll switch to in-person bi-monthly meetings.

Position Overview:
STEM From Dance is seeking passionate and committed individuals to join its Board of
Directors. Board members play a crucial role in providing strategic guidance, oversight, and support to advance the organization's mission and objectives. Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
● Passion for STEM education, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and a commitment to
empowering girls of color in STEM fields.
● Demonstrated leadership experience in nonprofit organizations, corporate entities,
academia, or community initiatives.
● Expertise in areas such as fundraising, financial management, strategic planning,
marketing, advocacy, or program development.
● Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build
relationships, influence stakeholders, and work effectively in a team-oriented
environment.
● Integrity, accountability, and a willingness to uphold the highest ethical standards and
values of transparency, equity, and respect.
● Diversity of backgrounds, perspectives, and expertise are valued and encouraged.
Time Commitment:
Board members are expected to serve a minimum term of two years and attend quarterly
board meetings, committee meetings, and occasional special events or activities as needed. The estimated time commitment is approximately 5-10 hours per month, including preparation and participation in board-related activities.
Financial Commitment:
In addition to their time and expertise, board members are expected to make a meaningful financial contribution to support STEM From Dance's programs and operations. We believe that each board member's commitment should reflect their personal capacity and dedication to our mission. Therefore, we ask board members to make a personal contribution starting at $5,000 annually. This contribution serves as an expression of your commitment to the organization and its goals. Furthermore, board members are encouraged to leverage their networks and connections to attract additional donations from their contacts. We ask board members to strive for a total fundraising goal of at least $5,000 annually from their network. This collective effort ensures that STEM From Dance has the financial resources needed to continue empowering girls of color in STEM and drive positive change in our communities.
