The Isaac Bruce Foundation is once again hosting FREE football clinics for more than 500 kids ages 8 to 13 years. Our event LOVES Kohl's volunteers as they have helped keep this thing running for more than 10 years! We will have volunteers helping at registration by handing out water bottles and T-shirts to kids, checking them in, and helping sell raffle tickets. We will also hand out giveaways to the kids as they leave each session. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Strong marketing and communication tactics are essential to building a robust community of stakeholders. Unfortunately, many nonprofit organizations lack the expertise and/or resources needed to communicate their missions strategically.

Join the 501 Commons Service Corps and utilize your marketing and communications skills to help nonprofits identify their target audiences, hone in on their messaging, and develop strategies for effective delivery.

The Service Corps is dedicated to connecting the skills and expertise of volunteer consultants with organizations in need of planning and support. Volunteers are in an on-call “pool” of professionals whom we contact when a specific project calls for their skill set. You decide if the project and timing are of interest to you. If it is not the right time, we place you back in the pool to await the next opportunity.

As a service corps member, you will:
· Typically contribute 10-12 hours per month on projects ranging from 2-5 months long
· Access our online training, resource library, and professional development workshops
· Learn new skills applicable to personal and professional situations
· Apply your background and expertise towards supporting the nonprofit community

For more information about the Service Corps or to apply, please visit the “Engage Section” of our website www.501commons.org or contact volunteer@501commons.org.

The American Relief Coalition for Syria (ARCS) is looking for volunteers who can help develop our organization's pitch. The mission of ARCS is a voice for US-based Syrian diaspora organizations who are providing humanitarian and development services for Syrians worldwide, through advocacy and empowering local humanitarian actors. ARCS serves as an impetus for positive change, social welfare, and progress through serving as a platform for coordination and organizational development. Our vision is to empower Syrian voices, both in Syria and in the diaspora. We envision a world where Syrian voices are heard, and their dreams are empowered to become a reality.

ARCS is the voice of and provides support to Syrian-American humanitarian organizations, but does not directly provide services on the ground. This has made it challenging for us to locate potential sources of funding, as many foundations are looking to directly fund relief activities on the ground. We are looking for a volunteer to help us develop our messaging and our pitch as we begin speaking to potential donors and searching for funding.

This opportunity would need about 20-30 hours of total support over 2-6 months, depending on volunteer's availability.

The American Relief Coalition for Syria (ARCS) is looking for volunteers to help improve our website. Our current website has a lot of potential, but does not look as clean or easy to navigate as it should be. We are hoping to improve our website in the coming months as we will begin pitching our organization to potential donors later this year and must have an attractive and professional website ready.

We currently have a contracted website developer who uses Drupal and has allowed us some basic ability to change the content on each page.

We are looking for volunteers who can help with one (or all) of the following:
-Create a list of basic improvements that can be made to the website to help with easy navigation and attracts potential donors.
-Design an alternative website, including designs for the Home Page and 'secondary' pages.
-Recommend changes that can be made by our website developer to improve our ability to easily edit both content and style of pages.
-Consult with us on alternative website hosting, design, or development options.

Current website can be found at https://arcsyria.org/

Depending on your experience and desired amount of commitment, aspects of this opportunity could take very little time.
