We believe the expertise and experience of mentors and professionals like you will empower Prikkle Academy's changemakers from different African countries to learn relevant skills, make better educational choices and successfully choose fulfilling careers.As a Career Coach or Mentor, you will virtually guide and inspire a team of 5 - 10 promising African students (mostly from grassroots and semi-urban communities) weekly for 4 months as they prepare to test their education in the industry and turn their skills into employment.
You should have at least 5+ years of experience as a Career Coach or Mentor. You may be currently self-employed, have your own organisation, or work with an organisation.
This will be a great opportunity for you to inspire and be inspired, to see how your experience translates into impact, and to co-create possibilities with diverse, curious, and creative participants.
The mentees are primarily from different African Countries who are:
- Looking to accelerate their skills
- Looking for jobs
- Running social enterprises

As the night winds down, help us wrap up smoothly by assisting with event teardown. Your efforts will ensure that everything is cleaned up efficiently, leaving the space ready for the next memorable event.

These events are held throughout the year, exposing kids K-12 to cybersecurity, ethics and STEM. We also have focused H.S. Cybersecurity Career Days. These started in 2015 and each event can host 100-300 students. We also have virtual CTF (capture the flag) competitions that we can remotely manage for schools and other organizations. We are looking for volunteers who can provide volunteer hours for online activities (website, social media, planning...) as well as in-person event volunteers. No experience is required, we will teach you!

Are you passionate about preventing and ending youth homelessness in the Twin Cities? Are you looking to gain nonprofit board experience and expand your network? Then YouthLink's Young Professionals Board (YPB) may be for you!
Purpose of the Young Professionals Board:
The YPB's mission is to create avenues for young professionals to more deeply engage with YouthLink through volunteerism, fundraising, networking, and community engagement. YPB members advocate and increase awareness for the issues faced by young people experiencing homelessness among their peers. The YPB typically hosts one or two fundraisers per year with an annual fundraising goal of $5,000.
Who makes up the Young Professionals Board?
YPB members come from a wide variety of industries and job functions, including (but not limited to) health care, technology, social services, and law. Members must be 21 years old. Joining the YPB will give you insight and experience into what it is like to be on a nonprofit board. Applicants should show a commitment to diversity, equity, justice, and inclusion. YouthLink's YPB strives to have a diverse membership when it comes to cultural background, race, ethnicity, gender expression, sexuality, ability, socioeconomic status, and life experiences.
Commitment & Terms:
The YPB meets monthly. Members should plan on attending 9 out of 11 scheduled meetings each year. The current board has been meeting virtually on Thursday evening from 5 PM- 6PM. Members are expected to volunteer time outside of the monthly meetings as well; for example, to fulfill work related to fundraisers or special projects. Members are appointed to a two-year term. Each member may have their term extended for one additional year.

YouthLink works with youth, ages 16-24, who are experiencing homelessness. We are located in downtown Minneapolis and serve youth across the Twin Cities. YouthLink has more than 45 years of experience connecting young people with a community of resources and support. Whether it’s basic needs, like a shower or a hot meal, assistance with employment or educational goals, accessing mental and physical health resources, or finding supportive housing, we can help young people at all stages of their journey.

You are invited to serve as a judge for this virtual business pitch competition event as a member of the NFTE entrepreneurial community. We are looking for various members of the NFTE volunteer community to review business plans submitted by NFTE students from across the West region. NFTE judging panels are composed of a mix of investors and industry experts, including venture capitalists, angel investors, investment bankers, seasoned entrepreneurs, and business professionals of all kinds. We seek a good balance of volunteers that mirror and model the demographic diversity of our young entrepreneurs.
Students have submitted their Executive Summaries, their 7-minute business pitch video, and their full business plan slide deck. It’s now up to YOU to evaluate, provide written feedback, and choose the top students to move to the next round. Quarter-finalist judges will be selecting the top students to move ahead. This is an asynchronous opportunity that allows you to judge the submissions during a window within a given timeframe that works best for your schedule.
As a judge, you will have the important role of determining which student business offers the most innovative solution to a real-world problem and demonstrates a strong entrepreneurial mindset. You will also have the opportunity to provide constructive feedback to the student businesses on their business ideas via our judging platform, Reviewr.
The quarter-final round will take place virtually (asynchronous).
The top businesses will move to the final round, taking place in San Francisco on May 23rd and in LA on June 1st. The top West businesses will advance to the National Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge in October 2024 to compete in nationals for a grand prize award for their business!
**Judging Window: Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 9:00 AM PST to Monday, May 13, 2024 at 11:59 PM PST.
**Please note: This is a self-paced, remote, and asynchronous volunteer opportunity. Register below and select a 3 hour time within the judging window that works BEST FOR YOU. In addition, if you are a judge for the semifinals round, you cannot serve as a judge for the quarterfinals round in the same sub-regional category, and vice versa.
Your Role
As a judge, you'll volunteer using our online business plan competition platform called Reviewr. You will be assigned 3-5 student business plans to review (pitch decks, executive summaries, and pitch videos) and determine which offer the most innovative solution to a real-world problem and demonstrates a student’s strong entrepreneurial mindset. Using our rubric form which we will provide, you will score each presentation and also provide constructive feedback for students on their business plans and presentation skills.
**Time commitment: 2-3 hours, but self-paced, virtual, remote, and through the judging window listed above, including orientation and platform training.
Tech requirements: Computer and strong internet connection
How to prepare: NFTE staff will provide you with a guide for the Reviewr platform and judge orientation which includes review of student business pitch templates and scoring rubric

The H4H Annual Gala is our number one fundraiser. Our goal is to ensure that everyone in our community has access to proper care and knows where to find it; from preventative care to emergency services. We require many volunteers to make this event a reality: security, bartenders, bussers, ticket sales, 50/50, ticket takers, we also have set up and decorating and organizing auction items and take down and clean up.Here are some examples of what you can help us accomplish:
