CrowdDoing.world's Plant proximity is understood by the scientific community through the lens of ""biophelia"". Biophelia is the visual & sensory experience of plants and proximity to plants. CrowdDoing draws upon expertise relevant to reviewing for validity and applicability our simulation of biophelia in hospitals. Our draft aims to forecast the social outcomes that could be caused by varying scenarios of biophelia in hospitals. We have identified more than 100 outcomes that in principle can be attributed to biophelia. We present here in draft for review a partial simulation of this impact potential. We have aimed to consider prospective benefits to all stakeholders. We have structured this to be a flexible model that can be adapted to any hospital circumstance. We’ve aimed to identify both health outcomes, environmental outcomes financial outcomes.

We do so by analyzing scientific research and clinical evidence, gathering new evidence through data science and citizen science, and recommending to individuals optimal combinations of teas, tinctures, and powders that can be used to achieve each individual's
mental health goals. We conduct this research with the goal of allowing people to make informed decisions about their health and to increase access to healthy stress-coping alternatives. These healthy coping mechanisms can reduce reliance on harmful self-medication practices such as alcohol abuse or behavior likely to lead to opioid addiction.

Board CommitteesFinance
The Finance Committee's tasks are:
Review budgets initially prepared by staff, to help develop appropriate procedures for budget preparations (such as meaningful involvement by program directors), and on consistency between the budget and the organization's plans.
Report to the Board any financial irregularities, concerns, or opportunities.
Recommend financial guidelines to the Board (such as establishing a reserve fund or obtaining a line of credit for a specified amount)
Work with staff to design financial reports and ensure that reports are accurate and timely.
Oversee short and long-term investments.
Recommend a selection of the auditor and work with the auditor.
Advise the executive director and other appropriate staff on financial priorities and information systems, depending on committee member expertise.
Community members are welcome to join. The Committee meets twice monthly for one hour.
Governance
This Committee meets twice monthly to ensure that DxRI procedures align with the mission and vision. Duties may include reviewing and creating policies and procedures. Governance committees recruit new members, hold orientations, create meeting materials, and evaluate the Board's performance.
The Committee is responsible for the general affairs of the Board.
• Prepare priorities for board composition
• Meet with prospective board members and recommend candidates to the Board
• Recommend a slate of officers to the Board
• Conduct orientation sessions for new board members and to organize training sessions for the entire Board, and
• Suggest new, non-board individuals for committee membership.
DEI- This Committee meets monthly for an hour to steer DxRI's internal and external programs and communications through an equity lens. The Committee is responsible for expanding DxRI's community. Community members are welcome to join.
Design Week RI Committee - This Committee helps plan September's Design Week RI. Members host events, recruit hosts, and help with general planning and outreach. The time commitment is from February to October and will meet once a month for an hour. Members will collaborate with other committee members on hosting a DWRI event, help source spaces for events, offer input to make DWRI expansive for attendees and hosts, and engage diverse communities for outreach and collaboration. Community members are encouraged to join. Works with DxRI staff to oversee work.
Fund Development Committee - starting in January 2023, the Board will start a new standing committee that supports the organization's fund development efforts. The time commitment will be one hour once a month.
The Fundraising Committee's job is not simply to raise money. Instead, the Fundraising Committee is responsible for overseeing the organization's overall fundraising and, in particular, the fundraising done by the Board. The responsibilities are:
Work with staff to establish a fundraising plan incorporating appropriate vehicles, such as special events, direct mail, design directory outreach development, etc.
Work with fundraising staff in their efforts to raise money.
Take the lead in certain outreach efforts, such as chairing an event committee, hosting fundraising parties, etc.
To be responsible for the involvement of all board members in fundraising, such as having board members make telephone calls to ask for support, and
Monitor fundraising efforts to ensure ethical practices are in place, that donors are acknowledged appropriately, and that fundraising efforts are cost-effective along with the staff.
Community members are welcome to join. Training will be provided by DxRI staff.

Strategic Planning Committee - this Committee will help develop the DESIGNxRI 2024-2027 strategic plan. This Committee is time-bound, starting in January, and is estimated to end on April 30, likely meeting twice a month. Some activities include writing, editing, data referencing, and sourcing aligning with DxRI's mission and values.
