Moodle Instructional Design Volunteer at Nature Counter at CrowdDoing.world
People who live in cities and the communities that connect them can achieve goals through increasing their nature dose. Any country can embrace a national strategy of getting its people and institutions enough time in nature for the community to thrive. This has economic dividends, social capital dividends, mental health health dividends and physical health cost savings.
CrowdDoing has found small groups of trained professionals who know about specific nature benefits. There are people who have been trained in ""Attention Restoration Theory"", ""forest bathing"", ""eco-therapy"", ""nature deficit disorder reduction"", and other related terms. This has not be turned into a universal type of knowledge for any society to adopt in a modern context of majorities of the population living in cities and suburbs. There are examples of elements of biophelia as strategy, Singapore’s Airport, Milan’s Bosco Verticale. But the parks themselves are under-utilized globally by populations compared to their impact potential in cities.
CrowdDoing’s goal with Nature Counter is to create universal usable knowledge about what the benefits of nature dose are, how to access the benefits of nature dose and how to validate nature dose benefits for yourself. A world with more advanced processes to support nature dose could be more convivial, more resilient, have greater neuro-plasticity and would have faster learners and greater upward mobility among a plethora of benefits.
There is a user-centered design gap in nature in culture in that it is not discussed in terms of its benefits. Exercise may have an obvious connection to health but the fact that people sitting on a park bench are experiencing a scientifically established public health benefit is not universally understood. Scientists have been explaining this to other researchers but it hasn’t become universal knowledge any country in the world. No country currently recommends to all people in the country a level of nature dose to achieve basic human health goals the way nutritional recommendations are made by most countries. Nature dose empirically should be at parity with nutrition as an opportunity for established health interventions to achieve public health goals through interdisciplinary cooperation and education.
National nature strategy involves:
Nature dose education for the learner.
Nature dose education for a person in a direct support role (friend, family member, teacher etc.)
Nature dose education for a person designing systems for others that need nature dose alignment- ie employers, administrators, managers, etc.
Nature dose for people who are communicating with people who have all of these roles- educating people who create culture on nature dose, etc.
Nature dose validation (app) features
Nature Flex time for employers features
Nature capacity building for educators about the benefits of nature dose (ie all teachers who could host outside could receive that ) features
Nature capacity building for access gaps in medical knowledge for nature dose for nature prescriptions by doctors, pharmacists and nurses features
Increase the percentage of the country getting nature dose features to increase adoption and habit building
Calculate the benefits to the health care system of their getting nature dose
Nature dose education for storytellers, filmakers, tv show makers, ie how does the local culture establish nature dose benefits and real, empirical, and multi-dimensioal.

Rescue Adam Smith from shareholder capitalism to reclaim Adam Smith for stakeholder capitalism via Implicit Marginalia!
Implicit marginalia is taking a later text that quotes an earlier text and annotating the earlier text. We aim to use this to build an addition of Adam Smith’s classic works Wealth of Nations and Theory on Moral Sentiments based on social impact themes that show up in each to show if or if not Adam Smith was for social entrepreneurship, social impact, social innovation, and impact investing rather than Milton Friedman’s limitless capitalism.
Any time Adam Smith gets quoted, we can identify the part of Adam Smith that quote applies to and connect implicit marginalia to it- the later text that quotes and cites Adam Smith. We will end up with an annotated edition of Adam Smith’s works based only on the impact theme relevant annotations. Identifying all the texts on the web and in books and in scholarly articles that quote and cite Adam Smith can begin with web crawling, data mining and other techniques. CrowdDoing is collaborating on this initiative. CrowdDoing is a joint initaitive of Match4Action Foundation and Reframe It.

Graphic Designer/Package Designer /Subscription Box Designer Virtual Volunteer Position for CrowdDoingProject:Medicinal Foods for Stress, Sleep and Anxiety
CrowdDoing is a global virtual collaboration to research medicinal foods for stress, sleep and anxiety. Our project has the goal of advancing integration across fields of research and to build medicinal foods literacies in the population.
CrowdDoing studied biophilia in cities and found that there are more than one hundred diseases that can be prevented through access to nature.[1] Nature Counter is a CrowdDoing concept, soon to become a functional prototype that lets each person see if they are getting that level of time in nature per week or per month. Time in nature is approximated through the kind of nature that exists in cities-- geo-locations of people based on their cell phones when they are in parks. Nature Counter tracks each person’s time spent in parks when the application is on. This allows people to track it the way step counters track the number of steps they take. The aim is to have a universal public health goal of getting the city’s people to have enough time in parks to realize the biophilia collective health dividend. The concept is that spending time in nature is both an individual activity and a collective goal that friends should encourage each-other to achieve. Nature Counter is aimed at getting each person to track their time in nature and adjust their calendar over time to increase that time. Our estimations are that people’s time in nature would rise if they could track this and have target goals for their health due to time in nature accordingly. 120 Minutes per week in nature is also geo-locateable on phones. Have you gotten your 120 minutes a week at medium edose nature, or 90 minutes a day of high dose nature? That is determinable by if your smart phone shows you in the park for how many minutes. We aim to build an app that counts how many minutes in nature each week you have spent and reporting that back to the person. This is like step counts, but based on time in nature as walks through non-parks don’t count for the nature counter. Time in parks or on coasts count. Can we validate against known locations of parks? I see ""park"" is a place type on google;s api for example- (https://developers.google.com/places/supported_types).

BAVC Media is looking for volunteers to help plan outreach for our annual campaign to support programming for women and nonbinary filmmakers, and to launch an inaugural awards event that will celebrate leading women and nonbinary filmmakers in the Bay Area.BAVC Media has been an advocate for media makers in San Francisco and the surrounding area for 45 years, supplying the tools, resources, and support they need to tell their stories. One of our core offerings is Reel Stories: a program that provides young women and non-binary media makers with rigorous training in filmmaking techniques and media literacy while creating safe and supportive environments for participants to express themselves. Reel Stories directly addresses barriers young women and non-binary people face in STEAM education and media through a gender-equity focused curriculum, an emphasis on community and mentorship, and experienced instructors who support students’ development and growth. Through summer and afterschool programs, workshops, screenings, and mentorship, Reel Stories is creating a pipeline of young female and non-binary creators ready to share their artistic visions and stories. Reel Stories provides full and partial scholarships so that no one is turned away from our programs. Programs are based in Oakland via school campuses, after school and during the summer at camps.
In mid-May, BAVC Media will launch a crowdfunding campaign, with the goal of raising $30k to make it possible for more young filmmakers to participate in Reel Stories programs in 2022. The campaign will culminate in a new signature community event that will showcase incredible women and non-binary filmmakres in the Bay Area, provide a window into Reel Stories programming and the young people BAVC Media serves, and broaden BAVC Media and Reel Stories’ base of donors and supporters.
We are seeking #twitterforgood volunteers to help support this campaign, and to launch our inaugural Reel Stories awards event. Meeting with us virtually, and using our digital assets, volunteers will help us spread the reach of our kickstarter campaign to attract people that care about our cause - supporting us in reaching a new audience of folks who haven't heard of us yet! We need help with social media strategy, engaging with influencers, adapting assets, etc. Volunteers will directly support our Campaign Manager, Development Director, and other members of our project team. Volunteers who are skilled in social media strategy, graphic design, analytics, and communications, will be especially useful to our project. Those more directly impacted by this project will be teen girls and non-binary youth seeking to build their mediamaking skills.
We will also have volunteer opportunities for people that want to volunteer in-person for our awards event at KQED headquarters on June 23 from 4pm - 8pm.
